Hey!

I ordered a Space Grey 11 Pro Max 256, I got a delivery estimate of September 27 through October 1st. Has Anyone in past launches receive their phones earlier than anticipated?

Yes, typically orders would move up week earlier, or two. One year I was last week of October into November (bad year getting on apple store quickly). By time my phone shipped I near end of first week of October. So I am hoping with those of us with such dates (and later) we will see earlier movement once the shipments for tye 20th are all out and they have our phones ready

Summarizing the poll for those of us in the later week or two after the 20th.... even if we got orders in first 10 minutes or even first minute.

1) It looks like the pros were most ordered (in this crew)
2). space grey and midnight green account for 70-80% of orders.

Reading the experiences in this thread it seemed that they had more midnight green pros than space grey so some still got the 20th. I am betting Apple did not make as many space grey this year as lots of folks in past liked the gold, silver and new colors, and those remained til the 20th in many cases (gold not being popular seems it was still available in pros for 20th not long ago).

So if you are like me and got a space grey 11 pro (max or regular 11 pro) I think they were out long before first 5 minutes, midnight green lasted longer but now its 3 weeks out also.

Really the luck of the draw. In past space grey was always a safe bet for me to get opening day, even if still a crap shoot. Maybe it has not sold as well so they made lots less this time around given my experience of it being easier to score on each preorder season?

Just random thoughts, still does not help me plan for next time LOL.
I believe you’re right. I originally ordered a 512GB silver Pro Max with my order having completed by 8:07 Eastern. I had a 9/27-10/1 delivery date. Decided to cancel the silver and go with gold, as the color wasn’t super-important to me, and did so on Sunday morning, probably at around 8 am again. Now I have 9/20 delivery. It always comes down to supply in the various configurations—that explains why someone who ordered the most popular one had a slipped date and someone who ordered a less-popular size or color was still able to get 9/20 hours or days later. Happens every year.

Also no one knows how popular each was, and how much apple made of each color and model. It appears that pros most popular especially 11 Pro Max and that Space Grey and the new midnight green would biggest choices in this crowd. I am imagining this reflects in a sample set how orders went. I also think they had the lowest inventory on the Pro and Pro Max space grey any whether the first minute or later it was already out. Apple bet on the past popular silver, gold colors and the new midnight green for more of they Pro models it seems to me.

So put that on issues of who got orders first completed that you mention and thats probably the issues.

I couldn’t get on til 8 minutes after the start for example and even with preorder had to renter my regular card as well again (so much for preapproval process) — taking two more minutes.

Plus... those of us on macrumors and probably even moreso those of us who follow these threads year after year are the ones that are going to buy the Pro versions... whereas I think a lot of "normal" phone buyers just like that they can get an iPhone for $699.

Do you have a departure at 10:01 from Incheon, or arrival? I have 10:00 pm departure from ZhengZhou, 10:01 pm arrival to Incheon. It seems like their tracking is a little wonky.

Yeah it does look wonky and now I am not sure if it ever left or not, maybe its on the next flight, who knows, its out of our hands, but its fun to try to track the flight down for some reason.

Originally My Choice said Departed from Incheon at 10:01pm. I got excited and thought it was this flight https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS99/history/20190916/1310Z/RKSI/PANC

Now I know I'm probably wrong :(
Interesting we have similar times but different actions.

you do realize you are getting pissed over your need for instant gratification? Your current phone will work just fine until the new one comes. You are making yourself look so petty by acting like a 2 year old who didn’t get his milk and cookies.

Said by someone who isn’t in the same position.

Yes very true. Always hard to figure, yeah color not important to me either but I hated to cancel and retry like you did. I keep hoping like last time i got late delivery (it was last week of October through early November with the X I recall) that I will move up to earlier in week of September 27th and why I also did not try to redo.

I try to guess every year and this is second time I was wrong about most popular color and one apple had most of LOL

Plus, those of us on Macrumors and specifically this thread are rabid about getting their phone, on launch day! lol. Normal people are enjoying life, working, etc. to really care that a new iPhone is launching this week...they will get around to upgrading when their current phone breaks or stops working...

One year my phone order wasn't for launch day... It came at least a week earlier. Initial release of apple watch was the same... got a later delivery date and it came like the week after launch (tues or wed I think?)

this year my sep 27 - oct 4 pro mas case is arriving today.

I've asked my brother this a few times who flies for UPS, why everything seems to go through KY instead of direct to local hub...It basically comes down to volume. The KY hub is huge and designed to handle this kind of volume. You have here...thousands if not millions of phones...and watches, don't forget, heading to the US at the same time. Your phone is sitting on a pallet, with hundreds of other phones, in a sea of pallets. Trying to break those down, and send individual phones out, is complicated...lol. So bulk shipments like these always go through KY usually...because they have the resources to do so...

Customs is in KY.

Mine almost looks like they never scanned it as departed ZhengZhou, it arrived in Incheon, and they just stuck a departed ZhengZhou 1 minute prior. Hopefully we'll get more clarity when it hits stateside.

I have the Caudabe Lucid Clear Crystal case on my XS Max and it is terrific. It is very thin (so thin that I keep thinking that I forgot to put the case on), provides just enough protection, and no yellowing after a year of use. If I look closely, I will see scuff marks on the case, but after a year of daily use that is to be expected.

I have one too, but it scratched the bands on my phones so not sure if I will get another one or not. They are great though I agree.

Is anyone getting this when clicking on "Delivery Options" in UPS? I've never gotten this before but I assume I now have to wait until Wednesday when the phone is in the states to hopefully redirect it to my CC.

It shipped yesterday / today morning from China. I've been able to make changes before when it was in/leaving china but not this time apparently
