My fiancé’s the same way. He smiles and nods when I get all excited about updates, but he SO doesn’t get it. Lol. And he’s one of those who only upgrades maybe every 2-3 years to boot. Blasphemy, I say!!

I asked a friend when I saw him at the range Saturday if he ordered a new watch and phone (only one at our matches that wears an apple watch besides hubby and me). He was like "There's a new watch?" OMG! DUDE! REALLY!????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, but imagining and guessing where my new phone is isn't my priority. It's fun, but it's mostly smoke and mirrors. Getting it on Friday is the priority.

My wife would never upgrade if it keeps working. I moved her from 6 to a 7 last year. She is quite happy to use whatever I get (almost free) at walmart several generations back LOL

I get better luck doing it online with my mbp logged into the web my choice. Choose the detailed or List view vs. calendar. There should be a change button on the right. I did three of mine - all to the CC. Keep in mind you'll then see an exception notice on the order until it delivers.
DUDE! I did have to wait one year. Last year I actually had to drive over an hour to go to the store to pick up my phone so that I didn't have to wait... MY CHOICE! Then be back home to be here for UPS to sign for hubby's phone. The year the apple watch was introduced... I HAD TO WAIT to get mine because my order didn't get the launch day cut off. Another year I didn't get my phone until a week after launch.. So I've BEEN THERE>
I'm not gloating because I'm happy I'm getting my phone Friday... I'm just excited along with everyone else tracking their phones!
AND..... "I" made the decision to forego a white phone the year they released because I didn't want to wait. And again "I" chose not to get the shiny black phones their year because... I didn't want to wait.
TWO DIFFERENT years... My phones were almost late due to typhoons that year (I think last year was one????) Another year our plane sat in Anchorage for DAYS not moving... come to find out it was an import paperwork error. Would apple have owed me anything those years had my phones been late?

Agreed. I don't think anyone is gloating here. I sympathize with Zetaprime's situation, but the same thing happened to me in 2014 and I just waited it out and enjoyed it when it finally arrived.
I did not find it to be very slippery myself. You just do r want to take it in and out very often. It will scratch the bands on your phone. At least it does on the silver.
