There are several trailers full of iPhones at Louisville airport. This happens every year. With Louisville being the main UPS hub, its really easy to keep them here them introduce them into the sort operation Thursday night. Almost all Next Day Air items come thru Louisville. If you send something from Houston to Dallas next day air thru UPS, it will fly to Louisville, go thru the 5.1 million square foot building with thousands of belts to the next airplane and be sent out. It is no different for the phones. Stage them so they dont have to charter a plane, then introduce them into sort on Thursday night for final destination. The operation is really neat to watch. About 100 planes in between 11p and 2a, sort operations going on the whole time. Then between 2:30a and 6a, about 110 planes go back out in order to make it to their city for morning sort for delivery. Millions of packages go thru this operation every night.
