64 GB at this point is just offensive. How long are they going to milk this upselling strategy
I doubt most people use 128GB on their iPhone. If they get the Pro they probably also have iCloud storage. I think maybe next year they will probably bump it to 128/512/1024. I have a local iCloud copy of every iPhone and iPad photo taken since 2007 on my iPhone (~25,000) and a smart preview of every dSLR and mirrorless RAW photo I've taken since 2008 in Lightroom Mobile (~45,000) and a few thousand songs downloaded from Apple Music and my podcasts and a few local movies and 150 apps and still don't quite crack 100GB. I consider myself a higher end user. I think most people are content to pay a few bucks per month for iCloud Storage, which is more secure than storing originals locally and can be shared across an entire household.

Even with the pound to dollar exchange rate as it is, the Pro 64GB is $70 more expensive in the UK than it is in the US, and that’s with taxes removed.

Without VAT, the price in the UK is £874.17 which is $1078.46 compared to the US price of $999. I’m not sure how much of the UK price is import duty but it still seems pricey.

OLED screen + 1 more lens = $300 (%42 increase)

It’s all about insane margin on the 11 and even more insane margin on the 11 Pro

Samsung has been releasing sub$500 phones with OLED screens for many years.... so OLED doesn’t justify that difference.

Agree but I will never go back to a LCD screen once I got an OLED. Just not possible.

You can’t compare the oled from sub 700$ with the one from note 10 or ip 11 pro

Sorry, but those prices are disgusting.

Why are you apologizing? You’re obviously not the target demographic for this phone. Apple has other options in their lineup that are far cheaper than the iPhone Pro that will suit your budget.

Sorry but that’s rubbish... the pound hasn’t collapsed and we are not in a recession. Apple are just very greedy.

This graph says it all really...

“Low-cost”? Try again. More like high cost and very/extremely/obscenely high cost.

Also, it’s only been “usual” for the past two years since the debut of the OLED iPhone X. Before that we mostly got the same tech in that year’s model, and further back all you had to choose was colour and capacity. Yet we still got amazing new features that were class-leading without paying $1,000 plus.

Now they get up on stage and try to tell us a phone is “Pro” with a straight face. It needed USB-C and to retain 3D Touch as an absolute minimum to justify keeping prices the same or increasing them slightly. I don’t care for a franken-bump of sensors on the back or the ugly notch.

You can buy an iMac for the price of an iPhone Pro Max
Good luck fitting that iMac in your pocket.
Not to mention the fact that the A13 is way more powerful than the processor in the entry-level iMac. Add in WiFi 6, cellular service, battery power, and the fact that they are two completely different products altogether and I fail to see how this is relevant.
If anything, it's a credit to the price of the iPhone.

I thought similarly - my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9" with 256gb of storage costs the same as the iPhone 11 Pro Max. And I LOVE my iPad Pro. Between the screen, the form factor, and the wicked performance it offers, I think it's my favorite Apple device I've ever owned. Although the G5 tower was awesome back in 2002 and I did really like my MacBook Air (2011) for it's form factor, light weigh and performance (compared to the 2007 MBP it replaced). Nope, the iPad Pro is definitely my favorite.

Maybe I skip the new Pro Max, sell my X and use my iPad Pro as my phone... Of course I'd have to get some really large pockets sewn onto my pants, so that adds some cost, or I could start carrying a purse...I mean satchel, with me at all times to keep it in. Decisions, decisions.

Already got preapproved for my iPhone Upgrade Program upgrade. I'm going from an 8+ to the 11 in green - my monthly payment will remain the same for a more powerful phone with insurance, seems like a good deal.

Hello, I see this is your first experience with capitalism.

You know if they change the xr, iPhone 11 successor to 1080p OLED, with thinner bezels I would totally jump on that the pro model is way over kill for me. It such as great alternative. Hopefully in 2 yrs they’ll upgrade it to what I wish hehe
Sounds great and I'd probably upgrade to that as well, but if they did that who would pay an extra $300-400 for the Pro iPhone line?

The Pro's lack of the 128GB and the cost of the 256GB really really makes it hard to justify the premium. I was prepared to spend more for the extra camera, but not $400 ($1149 (256GB) v $749 (128GB)) more.

Not having the telephoto lens but rather wide in iPhone 11 was the total instant deal breaker for me.

Was going to wait until next year to upgrade my X, but iPhone 11 at cost with trade in would have been worth it, but I dont care about wide (I love panorama though,) I need telephoto for clearer zoom, way more important. I think that was a boneheaded move on Apples part. Plus the "new feature" should have been on the pro from a marketing perspective. Next year Ill just buy the best top of the line.
