How much money did Verizon pay for this to happen? They just want to make the new T-Mobile look bad. T-Mobile should respond with the lower price as well.

It's called corporate partnering, or in some circles, selling out.

Whatever you call it, it's no different that the original iPhone/AT&T deal oh so many years ago. I remember being a VZW customer for years and not being able to get an iPhone because of AT&T exclusivity.

Apparently T-Mobile/Sprint didn't want to play Apple's reindeer games, and so be it. That's their right to do so in the marketplace, same as VZW did with AT&T back in the day, and they regretted it.

T-Mobile is doomed anyway (this is satire, so take it for what it's worth). Poisoned by the malignancy that is the former Nextel. Every corporate entity that merged with or acquired a current or former Nextel partner ended up doomed.

It's like when they open the Ark in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Everyone who keeps their eyes open melts.

The melters are anything that had anything to do with Nextel.....

Usually, buying the sim-free version was the only way to get around the $30 “upgrade/activation fee” carriers would charge.

Apple upping the price by $30 on the sim free version, seems to me is their way of pocketing that money you were going to pay your carrier anyways for that upgrade fee.

Slimy, if so.

Unlocked makes sense.

As for Sprint and T-Mobile... c’mon...

Edit: I’ve previously bought release date Verizon iPhones (X, XS Max) and they have worked without issues on T-Mobile. In case that’s helpful.. not sure if that’s the case this year or if Apple is enforcing locking.

If these were carrier subsidized, that would make some sense... but positioning it as a markup rather than a discount is foolish. Apple's greed is on full display this year with their environmental segment, a cheap attempt to gaslight loyal Apple defenders while gouging consumers on necessary items to reduce their shipping, packaging, and accessory costs.

No thank you Apple.
