"Oooooooo, a purple phone!!!"...puts it in a black case.
But you will see the faint purple edge around the black bezel, and the purple camera on the back. Yippee!

That's why I didn't bother with a color for my wife's phone. She likes the red case anyway, so white made the most sense.

I have to say that is lush. Up there with the pink 5C, the coral XR and the red 12

iJustine is probably has the biggest Apple subscriber fan base out there!
She is not someone I can relate to and I find her off putting, however as an investor if she can capture whatever audience to prop my shares then who cares. But seriously a review for a colour of a phone that was released approximately 6 months ago. It’s a well known fact that colour is seen in person under different lighting conditions what is the point of these reviews.

Apple did release a mid cycle colour I believe for one of the iPhone’s in the past, I believe it may have been RED.

Apple is merely using these YouTubers as free advertising to get the subscribers to purchase. Most of them don't have a clue about doing a real review.

I find iJustine all fluff as well.

Depending on which image you look at, including this one from an unboxing, at least couple are not purple to me -- in the violet family, but I'd call it periwinkle <#CCCCFF>. Would have preferred a rich purple -- something more like: #551a8b or #4B0082 or #6f2da8

I hope they continue some form of violet (the darker/richer the better) with the 13 (when finger print unlocking returns).

Yes, definitely periwinkle, not lavender.

I am all for coloured tech over the dystopian white, grey, and black but honestly who uses their phone case less? Not only expensive to repair, you will be stranded without one until it get fixed.

Buy a cheap case and choose whatever colour you want. Apple should make all iphones black with maybe a faceplate change, and keep colours to whatever the case is.

All the videos I have seen, I keeping thinking "Hey, it's lavender." But I guess it probably looks a bit different depending on which device/monitor you are watching. (the dress is blue!)

Also, supposedly this was Steve Jobs' favorite color. And since it has been 10 years of his passing, perhaps this is why they issued it?

And the magsafe case for it is much more darker of a purple. The color I wished this iPhone had initially. My school colors are purple and gold. But this phone's purple is much too light to match.

MKBHD has a review on this. He says the code for this color is #bbb2e9 if you wish to google (or whatever search engine you are using) it.

I don't understand the motivation for this. iPhone sales are generally doing very well, a decision like this should have been made during initial manufacturing. This (presumably) extra step doesn't make any business sense (to me).

Apple does this even year. Even though sales are good for the 12 and the 12 pro max, Apple is hoping they can get more sales for those phones as well as the mini with the new color. I think it is good business.

As you may have seen in this thread, some may buy the purple, even though they already have a 12 model.
