I don’t get why some on here say if they don’t use MagSafe that they have to “give up” 15 W charging. That’s so not true. I found where you can get 15 W QI charging right on Amazon.
Here’s the charging pad:

LETSCOM Ultra Slim Wireless Charger,Qi-Certified 15W Max Fast Wireless Charging Pad,Compatible with iPhone 12/11/11 Pro Max/XS Max/XR/XS/X/8/8+,Galaxy Note 10/Note 10+/S10/S10+/S10E (No AC Adapter) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YTZHF5F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_l-ERFbBMRW4S3

Then this Anker charging block:

[Upgraded] Anker Nano iPhone Charger, 20W PIQ 3.0 Durable Compact Fast Charger, PowerPort III USB-C Charger for iPhone 12/12 Mini/12 Pro/12 Pro Max, Galaxy, Pixel 4/3, iPad Pro, AirPods Pro, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WRKXQ8W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_JdFRFbD6DT90K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

So for under $30 you have the same fast charging.

The Letscom charger won't have the NFC ring in it that communicates with the iPhone to enable the 15w charging. People have already tried using 15w chargers and only got 7.5w. The Amazon ad even shows iPhones listed (including the 12's) as only 7.5w charging.

That 5ft cord is compelling. 7.5w is plenty for me. Looks like Amazon is hard out of stock.

Hi Paco II,
I was able to place an order on Amazon earlier this week. Projected delivery date is Feb, 2021. I think this Magnetic charging Pad hasn't been released yet.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ll most likely be ordering this as well. My Anker pad & my 12 Pro Max seem to mate up when I set it on there at night, but in the AM, I’ve lost charge! Ugh...

The price is right, the cord length is good, and for my charging needs 7.5w is plenty. Glad to see Anker offering this (as opposed to some unknown company), makes the purchase easy.

For me over time, I still like the main Apple products (iPhone, iPad, iMac, MBP, AppleTV, etc.) but my go-to supplier of all attachments, cables, chargers, and so on has become Anker. Have about a dozen of their cables in various configurations and lengths and all are working very well despite some being a few years old now. With my wife’s new iPadAir, we added a few of Anker’s USB-A and USB-C dual chargers...great devices.

Agreed, SalisburySam. I have found Anker chargers and cables to be of high quality, and I like that I can keep to an Apple white aesthetic. Their Customer Service is particular helpful, as well.

Ok, I've been using the Spigen Mag Fit for a few days and I'm ditching it and going back to Glu Dots to stick it to my bedside unit.

The reason is that it makes what I bought them to do worse. It leaves a circle imprint on my Leather Magsafe case that is bigger and more noticeable than the Magsafe charger alone left. In fact a little spray of water and light rub with a cloth would make it 95% less noticeable.

So there we go, worth a try but in my experience instead of preventing circle marks it created bigger and more apparent one.

With Apple's MagSafe charger I'll need quality tape to force the charging puck to stay on the desk. OR every single time I pick up the phone, I'll have to pull off the puck with another hand. It's no longer a grab-n-go. All the convenience of the lock-in charging is outweighed by the inconvenience of actually having to have two hands to remove it, or hard-mount the magsafe to your desk.
having owned the phone for a month now, I can comfortably say I rarely or never use 2 hands to remove the charger. There’s greater force required if you try and pull the puck away from the phone. Instead, I grip the phone in one hand and use my fingers to slide the puck along the back off the phone until it detaches and let it drop onto my side table. Haven’t found it inconvenient at all. This method also means I don’t pull on the cable at all which may help with longevity. The “sliding off” being easier to do is similar to the concerns raised about the wallets magnetic strength if force was applied parallel to the phone, although I find the force perfectly find and haven’t had any concerns using the wallet or puck myself.

Biggest issue I have is I’d like a 2m cable.

I do think it’d be good for Apple to allow 15w charging without MagSafe but. For a desk cradle it makes sense to have no magnets, or very very minimal magnetic force.

Interesting. It is the white I’m actually trying to get away from. During this period of transition from USB-A source sockets with Lightning connectors until everything is USB-C at both ends we need to be able to quickly identify which cable is for which device. We ”standardized” on white for the USB-A-to-Lightning cables since we had the most of these, and Anker’s beautiful red for the USB-A-to-USB-C cables. Then we use Anker’s silver for the straight USB-C-to-USB-C cables such as those to connect the new iPadAir to its charging wall wart. This way one knows at a glance if you have the correct cable for whatever device at the time. Using this color-coding protocol has worked for us. And I think we’re stuck with this for at least a few more years as I don’t see us getting rid of our Lightning-only devices soon.

I started out with the MagSafe wallet and it's been attached to my phone every day since. Not once has it come off while putting in/taking out of my pocket and it actually takes some effort to remove it from the leather case. I got the charger a couple of days ago and it's absolutely been a quality-of-life upgrade. Previously, I had an Anker wireless charger bedside and if I was in bed, I would have to prop myself up to place the phone on the charger to make sure it was properly aligned. Now I can literally reach over with my eyes closed and wave the phone over my nightstand until the charger snaps into place. Leaving in the morning, disconnecting via the aforementioned method of pushing the puck off center while picking up the phone has been completely effortless.

Both are wins in my book.

The iPhone itself has a couple very weak magnets in it. The accessories have the strong magnets (The Apple leather case can actually hold my 12 mini onto the side of a filing cabinet). The duo charger from Apple (the folding one that charges a phone and a watch), has magnets in it strong enough that the phone will lift the charger and watch without separating.

However, concerns with the MagSafe charging puck made me opt to use a Lightning dock. What I did was peel the rubber foot off, which reveals a nice adhesive surface that allows the dock to be stuck down to a desk. So now, a hair of care is all it takes to dock the iPhone, which then charges via USB-C from my MacBook so it's fast, and grabbing the phone is hassle-free. Straight up and it's clear. Plus, since the phone charges from my MacBook, it automatically backs up to the computer. I used to use an Ubiolabs QI stand with my X and that was fantastic, but I found this charger only cooks the 12 mini. It can't handle the magnets, so I gave it to my Mom for her 8.

i would say the only inconvienance for me is how it limits what case you can use, theres cases that i have that i really like but can't use if i want to use my MagSafe accessories like my car mount wallet etc.
