iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max pre-orders just went live this morning, but some customers who placed orders are already seeing those orders shift over to the "preparing to ship" status.

Orders that are preparing to ship are no longer able to be canceled, and soon those orders should be able to be tracked using methods like UPS My Choice and track by reference number in the United States. The first customers who ordered this morning will see their devices arriving on Friday, November 13.

Supplies of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max have been adequate, though some iPhone 12 Pro Max colors and capacities from some carriers will not arrive until later in November or early December for orders placed now.

Many iPhone 12 mini models appear to be in stock and available for launch day delivery, and for those able to pick up in a store, most iPhone 12 Pro Max and 12 mini models continue to be available for launch day pickup in some areas.

According to spot checks done by Loup Ventures, the 128GB iPhone 12 Pro Max in Pacific Blue appears to be one of the most highly sought after models, alongside the iPhone 12 Pro in the same color.

I had two orders this morning. Was able to get the 128 Pacific Blue Pro Max about 15 minutes after the site went live. But then about 2 hours later I remembered my 10% veterans discount! D'oh! Tried to order another one, but ship date had been pushed out two weeks. Ended up ordering a 128 Silver Pro Max (with discount) for next Friday. Figured for $110 savings, I could live with silver!! Cancelled the first one a few hours later. The silver is still "processing" at this time.

Wonder what the chance is for an early delivery? I ordered at 8:00 AM and my order is at preparing to ship. This is the first time I’ve been able to get a phone on launch day 😁
I rememebr a shipping snafu with iPhone 4 (or 5?) that caused Apple to just cancel delivery moratoriums and many of us got it a day early.

Had huge trouble with my AppleID this morning. Changed password three times before giving up and using guest access. As a result, my mini order was 50 minutes past the time (8:56 EST US) the website opened. The immediate email showed a delivery date of next Friday.

But no followup order processing email. Does anyone have a delivery date before Friday (which is supposed to be the first delivery date)? In prior years, some even have received a phone two days early.

I’ve been ordering iPhones from Apple since the iPhone 3G and this is the earliest I have ever seen it go to “Preparing to Ship” this quickly. Apple seems to really be on the ball with these orders. Too bad the delivery services are told not to deliver before next Friday even if it arrives at the local delivery place early.

Since Apple tells the delivery company to not deliver before the actual release date, next Friday, the only people who get phones early are those who got lucky where their delivery company didn’t follow instructions. While it does happen, it’s pretty rare. Keep in mind Apple sells 200 million phones a year, so if you hear of ten people getting theirs early, that’s probably ten out of 20 million who preordered on day 1.

If you have a question about whether your order went through, check your mobile store app and login and check your current orders. If it’s not there, call Apple and see if they have an order for a phone placed under your Apple ID.

I just checked and mine is at "Preparing to Ship" :D

For the iPhone 4, mine was delivered 2 days early. It was pretty hilarious walking by the Apple store for 2 days taking pictures of the crowd waiting for the iPhone 4 with my iPhone 4. :)
