Apple makes the UPS hold them until the official launch day date. If Apple allowed such in the middle of a new launch, it would create a lot of needless drama and customer staffing problems for Apple to deal with.
I can understand that. Like I said the 12s.12 Pros are out so I didn't see as much need for the hold.

To you and me it seems very odd to make everyone wait. People should be able to receive their device as soon as the delivery carrier can accomplish the task. I guess Apple wants to keep some of their old “pomp and circumstance” habits.

Normally I wouldn't care but I'll be out of town Thursday to Sunday :(

False! Tons of people received their iPhone 4’s including me prior to launch day. They may have fixed their shipping issues since then but it happened.
What he said is true. Just because some people were the exception by mistake doesn’t change the fact that Apple legally requires UPS and FedEx to not deliver packages early.

Looks like this one went slick. Probably not as much demand this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone who pre ordered got a phone on Friday minus a few hiccups. The 12 and pro didn’t seem to be big issues either.

looks like I wake up early on Friday for nothing - I still see Nov 13 as the delivery date for 12 Max on the Apple site, AT&T, Verizon, etc. I wonder if they have more supply or the demand is kind of low

Do I need to be home to get this? I’d rather pick it up at an Apple store if I need to. UPS suuuuucks in my area.

I ordered a 512GB Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro Max for AT&T on apple.com right went the site went live. Also a Baltic Blue Leather case. Both are showing Preparing for Shipment. I also received my AT&T Installment agreement via email too. 👍🏼

I now have a UPS tracking number for my iPhone. Found it via UPS account. 👍🏻

Friday can’t come quick enough! 📱

I rememebr a shipping snafu with iPhone 4 (or 5?) that caused Apple to just cancel delivery moratoriums and many of us got it a day early.
I don’t think they canceled moratoriums, FedEx fouled up big time. How serious was it to Apple? Well, they use UPS now for preorders :)

I had ordered iPhone 12 Pro Max (Pacific Blue) along with Navy blue Silicone Case and HomePod mini. All three of them are stuck at processing. I ordered my Pro Max right when the site went live (like at 5:05) and it's still in processing. Damn, blue kinda sus.

You will not get it early.

Two of the last four iPhones I’ve ordered directly through Apple. Those two iPhones ordered directly through Apple have been delivered the day before release day each time. As long as you’re within the first percentage of orders, you do have a probability of receiving the device a day before release.

that way, it's fair for people who go to the store and the people who buy online.

So there’s a chance in the UK at least that some may get early as all our stores are closed cos of the covid again. No store pick ups.

However, it’ll probably stay on preparing to ship until at least Monday, maybe Tuesday.

It’s a different story cause I live in Germany but I also thought for a while I get my 12 Pro early, it was prepared for shipping right on Friday and it did not change that status till Thursday!

On thursday it changed to “shipped” around 7 pm and I saw that it was shipped from the czech rep! I never thought it would get here right on time, but DHL Express made an awesome job.

Bottom line: Apple is quite good in sending their stuff right in time! Like my phone only 24h before release date from another country.

It's still stuck in Processing and now I am getting skeptical of the delivery date! But hey, all the iPhones will be shipped on Monday since that's the next business day in China! So......

Good luck gang..I am trying to dig out the UPS Flight numbers from Shanghai to Anchorage on Monday afternoon/night.

Sprint is on my naughty list, as they say my Pro Max is being shipped Nov 25 at the earliest. 🤞🏼 It’s earlier
