iPhone 12 iPhone 12 mini black looks navy blue

I just received my 12 mini black but it looks a bit navy blue in most angles. Definitely does not feel completely black like the older models. Anyone else getting this or is this just my phone being a defect or something? Before anyone asks, I didn’t accidentally receive a blue model because the blue model looks way lighter.

In SUPER sunlight it does appear slightly dark dark dark blue.

Nothing anyone but a super tech geek who studies his phone or watches YouTube reviews of would EVER notice tho.

Mine is definitely more of a dark slate similar to how the 5 was, definitely not blue although different light can make it pick up other colours.

Regardless, it’s a great finish (IMO).

When i was in the apple store actually i was a little confused if the black model on display was a dark blue or not, so to my eyes under the bright apple store lights it did seem to have hints of blue to it! I should have a black mini coming in today to try out and will see if it appears that way at my home
 
Thanks all. I think I may have over-exaggerated as this thing does look dark slate or black for the most part. But it certainly does look a bit navy blue under direct bright light.

All black iPhone 12s ive seen look blueish. Even in some YouTube Reviews. The sides also look dark blue instead of black. Even on the packaging the frame is blue, so i don’t see how it can be pure Black to anyone. Place it next to another black phone and it will be more obvious.
 
Looks black to me OP...

though I do see what you mean. Just held it up in a bright light And it has Some blue tones in there. It is not quite as pure black as say the aluminum sides of the iPhone SE 2020 or iPhone 11

But it is still quite black otherwise.
 
In very blueish cold lighted rooms my black 12 Mini indeed does look dark blueish, both back and sides. But in normal lighting with darker and warmer lights or in sunlight in does look very black. Really reflects the lightning this, as does every other color too.

Looks black - or you mean the back side or the frame or both? The frame might have some "shimmering" effect to it because of the aluminium.
