I’ve got this issue as well. 12 mini with saddle brown leather case. Frustrating.

Torch and camera buttons won’t work, plus touch sensitivity on the Lock Screen in general; sliding to unlock is very unreliable.

You also have a screen protector on right ?

Yes, tempered glass

Ok same setup. Removing the screen protector , the case will cause no problems.
It a combination of both. (Or using a screen protector , and not been able to have contact with the phones frame / grounding ) some have found both work in combination if the charging cable is plugged in. Again grounding the phone.

Thank you. It’s a bummer still because apparently this ceramic shield business is prone to scratches.
Also, still odd that it only affects the Lock Screen.
Based on what you’ve said I wonder if a software update will do the trick; potentially not.

Funfact: if you put your finger (pinky works for one-handed use) on the charging-hole, it works every time. Seems like @scoobdriver is right and it is some kind of grounding issue. Let’s hope it is fixable with an software update...

Not sure, but for that it makes no sense to me, why it would work flawlessly when unlocked.

No. Only issue while in lookscreen and gone if you put a finger on the charging hole. None of that relates to pressure, which would be the same in all other situations.

Problem appears when I use the leather case from Apple. No issues with only the screen protector.

So it must be the case then? This is crazy. Maybe we can ask MacRumors to get this twittered. I am curious on whether or not this is a Software bug...
I had the same problem. Have a speck gripper case and zagg glass protector. I messed up the glass install, so decided to just remove the zagg glass protector---with case ON and glass protector OFF--everything works perfect.

It works for me in a way that it registers the press on the torch meaning the button turns "ON" but the actually light doesn't turn on. Strange....btw - the torch works when I un-log the phone and turn it on then.

Sorry but this just goes to show you why screen protectors are a waste of time.

I love that everyone is blaming the Apple leather case rather than these off-brand screen protectors 🤣
