If it hasn’t been mentioned already, I would like to the record to note that 5.4” is definitely not ’mini’.

Local store allows 12 months interest free iPhone purchases. So I did that. Unfortunately I selected delivery rather than collect in store, so ETA Monday rather than Friday. Damn it. 256GB Pro Max Graphite, since 512GB wasn't on their website and I don't REALLY need that extra space yet.

Relative to other iPhones currently available, yes it is. Relative to the overall size of the majority of smartphones currently on the market, yes it is.

So looked on the Apple Store app this morning and all colors of 12 Max in 128gb size are available for delivery or pick up on Friday. Can’t remember phones ever being still available three days after pre orders.

NOW THIS A FIRST 3 DAYS AFTER OPENING FOR PRE-ORDERS:
Three of 512GB iPhone 12 Pro Max colors are still on for delivery in Apple Store App (Denmark) for Rush Delivery on Friday, November 13, 2020. Only Graphite Gray is slated for delivery in Denmark on November 19 - 24, 2020.

My 256GB Max is still preparing to ship. Yeah, still four days till Friday, but I'd have thought it'd be on it's way by now. I ordered exactly at 5am Friday.

The shipment left the first facility in China today(11/10)!
How do you know that. I have put all the numbers I could think of (phones, order with or without all the digits) in the UPS tracking box and I get nothing! Not a big deal, but I am wondering how people know. I'm in Canada if that matters.

Look up UPS track by reference number in Google. There’s a couple websites after all the UPS actual ones and then put in your phone number. It’s limited on the details available but i saw it left China and then left Anchorage Alaska, which is the normal plane voyage to get to the US mainland. After that it hasn’t popped up where it is.

No ship notification or tracking number for me yet.
Chatted with Apple and they say that I'll get the shipping details Friday and delivery by end of day.

Fingers crossed.🤞

Are people keeping their minis naked or are they buying a case? I would like to save the $50-$60 but then I have to be extra careful with it. The case makes it chunkier/uglier.

My 12 Pro Max blue arrived this morning.

Really nice screen etc, but this is a first for me. I’m returning it. I really don’t like the blue. The band around the sides is weird and shiny. The apple logo on the back is barely visible. I’m not liking the looks of it when I have it in my hand. Looks like a very generic Android phone dare I say :( My daughters standard 12 is elegant and nice and better looking in my opinion than the Pro Max. Hmmm 🤔

I received my iPhone 12 mini 128 Green from Xfinity today. Ordered on the first day. Already activated and unlocked. Unlock was nearly instantaneous. Very impressive. Good job Xfinity! 👏

Yeah, I joined the iPhone upgrade program back in April 2019 and had to jump through hoops since I didn't have a AT&T consumer account.
Because of the timing, I couldn't upgrade to iPhone 11 Pro when it was released. This time I again had issues due to my wireless service. I decided to just pay off my XR (the payoff amount was less than the trade-in value) and just buy my iPhone 12 Pro Max directly. So no more iPhone upgrade program for me.

In retrospect, it seems like it wasn't worth it. With the trade in value of my old iPhone, I could probably of upgraded to a new phone whenever I wanted to.

The need for an existing account with one of the major 4 (3 now) wireless carriers makes me think that maybe they are giving Apple a kickback.

It's an unlocked phone that I am buying through Apple. Why do I need a particular wireless service and account?

Lesson learned.

I've never understood why the US requires you to have a phone plan to buy a phone. Here in Australia I can go to any electronics retailer including Apple Stores to buy unlocked iPhones.

In the U.S. it isn’t required to have a phone plan in order to buy a phone from Apple. The carriers require it because they want to get you as a customer so, they often create these supposed great deals to lure people in and then keep them for 24 months or more if they can.

Part of requiring carrier activation was because of all the gray market resellers a few years back paying people to stand in line to buy as many iPhones as possible to send back to Hong Kong. Carrier activation helped put a damper on that practice.
