This is why I think a software update will be the fix here, not endlessly exchanging phones in a screen lottery. These are new screens and True Tone doesn't seem to be well calibrated to them. All 12's need the base colour profile to be knocked slightly towards pink with a less aggressive True Tone.True Tone this year pushes far more to yellow than it does on my 11 Pro. Disabling True Tone on my Mini brings things back to cooler tones.
Did you get a replacement ?Update: I went to a T-Mobile store today. Compared my 12 mini with a display 12 mini & 12. My 12 mini was slightly more yellow than 12 mini on display (have to look really close, not a big variation). But the 12 at the store had no yellow tint! So it was just the mini. I also made a T-mobile associate look at it and he immediately said mine looked "more yellow". Might have to wait a week or so (based on claims that the glue/solution in display needs to "cure"). But Apple should be able to replace the display/unit for 1 year under warranty.
No. I have Xfinity Mobile (bought the phone from Xfinity online store). But T-Mobile store is really close to my home so I dropped by to check out their display units. My plan is (1) Wait till December for software update to fix color profile (2) Take it straight to apple store sometime next year.Did you get a replacement ?
On #1 I highly doubt that can become a reality... Every new post on the other thread makes me think this is a hardware thing, otherwise everyone would be the sameNo. I have Xfinity Mobile (bought the phone from Xfinity online store). Cause Apple is the only company on earth that uses yellow glue that dries clear. LOL.Update: I went to a T-Mobile store today. Compared my 12 mini with a display 12 mini & 12. How do you know your XR colors are accurate? I ask because I noticed the same thing when comparing our minis to my son's old iphone 7, and while the mini looked a lot less blue than the 7, when I compare the mini to a calibrated high gamut monitor (ZR30W with a profile generated with displaycal software using a spyder 3) the phone (12 mini) is still on the blue side, and when looking at photo intensive web sites (e.g. flickr) and comparing to the calibrated monitor, the 12 mini does very very well with color accuracy suffering most noticeably with inability to render a full gamut but far exceeding my expectations. The conclusion I came to was that his older phone was the worse offender of the two for color accuracy, simply being way off towards blue. One thing I don't understand though is why Apple doesn't support display calibration on their mobile devices (measured calibration, not just the color filters), because manufacturing variability is a real thing.I saw that 12 PRO has a Yellow tint issue - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/yellow-screen-tint-display-seem-warm-check-here-first.2262691/
People are also wondering if 12 mini will have it - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mini-yellow-screen.2267137/
The answer is: Yes! (the mini has a yellow tint). When I first turned on the device, it said "damn it". I knew the display was not right. After comparing settings with my XR, I can confirm.
See attached picture showing tint on 12 mini.
Not sure what to do now. Might start with Apple Support ticket.
I know XR colors are good because I compared it to iPhone 6s and iPhone X, and it matched up fine. Also, my friend got a 12 mini and compared it to his 6s and saw the exact same issue. So I am not saying the 12 mini display is "wrong". I am saying its more yellow than all previous iPhone displays. How do you know your XR colors are accurate? Look the same to me. lol.

Waiting for the glue to dry is a made up internet myth. It is bogus.Update: I went to a T-Mobile store today. Compared my 12 mini with a display 12 mini & 12. The mini actually is more realistic to real world colors and it's where the industry is going. Imo it's a matter of perceptionMy iPhone 12 Mini on the left and XS on the right. First photo is with both TT off and second with TT on. Will be returning the Mini as it’s impossible to get proper white at all (not orange or blue/grey with color tint) and don’t want to play screen lottery. This is my second Mini with the same issue. The Mini’s display is the same as XS with Night Shift on permanently.
This is not correct with regard to photos and videos. There are very clear technical standards (sRGB, P3, etc.) on how the color values in images and video data are to be interpreted, that is, what actual colors they are intended to represent. If a screen displays them with different colors, then it is distorting the actual picture that the data is intended to represent (for example in movies and paintings the artistic intent). It doesn’t make sense to NOT try to display colors as accurately as possible based on the underlying data. The mini actually is more realistic to real world colors and it's where the industry is going. Can you do me a favor? I had already traded in my old iPhone XS and have nothing to compare to. Could you change the Accessibility Color Tint Settings on your Mini? 0% Intensity and around 60%-70% Hue. I am curious how close that gets to 11 Pro Max.There is definitely a difference in whites with all of the new models. The screen also appears to be slightly more washed out than the 11 Pro Max. Neither device has a screen protector on it. Here is a photo comparing the two:

Hey I'm glad you mentioned that. I had forgotten that I had that already turned on on my 11 Pro Max. The 12 mini had it on as well from being a backup of the 11 Pro Max. It does help, but its still not as good as the 11 Pro Max with both of them on.Can you do me a favor? I had already traded in my old iPhone XS and have nothing to compare to. I have heard some pros and cons of this method. I am currently using it and it looks acceptable. But I want something to compare to.
Do you have a photo where color filter is on for the Mini and off for the other one?Hey I'm glad you mentioned that. I had forgotten that I had that already turned on on my 11 Pro Max. For reference, here is the mini and the 11 Pro Max with color filters off (not good):

Thanks for the help. Mini definitely look better with the Color Filter on. However, the bigger devices look more yellow in your second shot. In any case, I do not think it is prudent to replace the Mini and risk the screen lottery when this method gets you to an acceptable range.
What data do we have available to support these allegations? But there is absolutely no logic in making the screen wholesame warmer and to intentionally remove the ability to view the full color space up to neutral white (6500K).
