Why is everyone saying their leather case does not have the lip around the front like the silicone...??? Mine does?
Mine has e lip, but the coroner still pops out. Hoping Apple updates this because the case is great otherwise.

Are you on the fence about the color or just the fit and quality in general?
I’m concerned about the design of the flat sides of the iPhone 12 causing the case to get loose after a while. And my 12PM brown case has a weird issue where the lip around the screen is not the same height all around. So the right side of the screen the case lip comes up higher than the left and my thumb get caught on it constantly when I’m swiping. I’m getting it replaced tho. Fingers crossed.

On the other hand, the leather grip, color and quality are fantastic. No noticeable wear after a week of heavy use. So that’s a big plus.

I really liked the silicone case on my 11 pro max so I decided to buy the same one for 12 pro max but I found it too bulky, I was about to even return the 12 pro max. The same day the Pitaka Mag Ez case arrived and it was a night/day difference, of course is lesser protective but it is a trade off I am willing to pay for the better grip and feeling in hand that the Pitaka case provides me.

I find the silicone way more grippy than the Pitaka.

I have been using a cobalt blue silicone case for my iPhone 8 Plus for the past 3 years, it's grippy and is holding up quite well. Would like to get another silicone case for my new iPhone 12 but decided to try out the leather case instead.

A quick update from me, as I’ve been rather silent since starting this thread. First, thanks to all who have replied to this thread. I find it very interesting to hear how others feel about the cases and which ones you prefer.
After about a week of use, the black leather case has definitely spent the most time on my phone, with the saddle brown a close number two. I’m not seeing too much patina on the saddle brown case yet, but it’s probably just me being impatient, as it probably needs a bit more time.
The deep navy silicone case still looks sharp on the phone, but the smudges bother me a bit (I know I can just wipe them off with a damp cloth, but still..).
The clear case is a terrible finger print magnet, and has been mainly in my drawer. I read about the «corners popping out” issues that others are experiencing, but this has not been a problem on any of my cases. All in all, very pleased with the cases so far - with the leather ones being my favorites.
Please keep posting your opinions on the Apple cases :)

I've been using a black Apple silicone case for my 12 PM. I like it a lot. I'm also partial to silicone cases over the years. I feel they provide the best grip with respect to any other materials for cases.

I will say at $50 it's absolutely absurd. Thankfully I have a Best Buy gift card to cover the expense.

I did try a few cheap Amazon silicone cases and they were all terrible in comparison. Especially the loose areas near the buttons and ports.

My biggest pushback on the official silicone case is that the side buttons aren't very tactile. Feels like a gross oversight by Apple. A $50 case should provide a satisfying button experience.

I appreciate how it has MagSafe as I'm interesting in trying both a MagSafe dash mount for my car and a stand for my home office.

I have four cases for my Pacific Blue 12PM. The leather in Baltic Blue, the silicone in Deep Navy, a clear ESR that came with two screen protectors in a set, and a caseology. I tried the Apple Clear and it was too slippery for me and hard to remove so I sent it back. The silicone is my main case as it looks good and is water friendly. The leather is my favourite that I use on non working days and if out with my matching Apple wallet. The ESR is a good clear case and a nice alternative when I want to see the PB colour. £10 for the set with 2 screen protectors is really good value I think and good quality. The caseology was an extra I bought on offer. It’s more rugged, so will use it for out walking, gym etc.

Good choices on the Baltic Blue and Deep Navy cases, I have the same :) The Caseology looks very interesting. How does the grip on the back of the compare to the silicone?

The caseology is nice and grippy with a textured back. The sides are larger than the silicone and come round the screen more, but it doesn’t interfere with the screen protector, but feels wider in your hand. I think I paid £10 for it.
Also in black, burgundy and green.

Thank you for that. On the photo you've shared, the sides seem to be flat, like the profile of iPhone 12's. The picture in the link you've shared has rounded sides. I'm guessing they haven't updated the stock photos from the 11 models.

Yes, the sides are flat.

Picked up a Deep Navy Pro Mac silicone today. we’ll see. I thought about getting the white but I also ordered a clear totallee and a blue metal bumper. I’m hoping the bumper works for a backless design.

Can anyone comment on the thickness of the Apple leather case? Does anyone know the exact thickness of it? And whether the leather or the silicone case is thicker?

Yes, the sides are flat.
I picked one up upon your comments. Very nice case, thank you for sharing! I like the feel of the honeycomb textured back, flat sides feels great in the hands and it is a robust yet not too bulky considering the protection it offers. I have used Spigen cases for years and picked up a Neo Hybrid which is a very similar style of case but find the beveled frame to be less comfortable in hand than what I'm used to. This one fit the bill AND they made it in blue! The color is fantastic.

I have the white silicon and saddle brown leather. I'm not a fan of the clear with the opening at the bottom.

The white doesn't have the finger print problem.

It feels good in the hand and doesn't have loose areas around the buttons and lightening port like some others.

It's grippier than the leather right now.
