How you guys finding the switch from android to ios or mainly from a Samsung device?

As I said in the op I've just ordered the 12 Pro max and really torn between it and the note 20 ultra

The iphone video recording is amazing and the battery life is incredible compared to my exynos note 20 ultra

The display seems just as good if not as immersive but it might be my eyes but during hdr playback the iPhone seems to get brighter which I thought the note had the brighter display

Also I've tried a bit of Netflix with dolby vision vs hdr10+ on the note and it's a better picture on the iphone

I don't play many game but my son does do games look better graphicly on the iphone over the note?

And I've heard that apps mostly are better in ios then android in general hope it's true 👍

The note can't get brighter due to overheating issues, this is
where the A14 bionic leaves it for dead. 😎

No contest here, the iPhone destroys every samsung galaxy and android phone when it comes to video recording.

Battery life is a no contest as well, the iPhone 11/12 pro Max leave the rest of the field for dead when it comes to real world battery life.

I'm trying to find thing on note to keep it and not have another contract but the por max is nice would you say the cameras,display,software,cpu,gpu,speakers and Bluetooth audio are better on the max over the note 20 ultra?

Only asking as should get a fair answer (although some subjective) here on this site as on xda it's mainly ios hate

Also is they a decent dac dongle available for the lighting port for the headphone jack as USB c seems to have more options

Honestly get rid of the note, the iPhone is a way better phone in almost every category, I've heard that Samsung phones do have louder speakers though. camera iPhone, display iPhone, stays brighter for longer and better HDR, software iOS more clean, less bloat, runs better, cpu A14 Bionic all day, every day, leaves the exynos for dead, gpu iPhone.

Thanks for the reply another question is jailbreak is it still a thing and easy to do? Without doing anything like tripping knox like on Samsung devices

I don't want to do much just ad free YouTube, Bluetooth volume booster, couple of things like that

I understand my banking apps won't work is there a work around for that too lol

And if I decide to un jailbreak with the iPhone be back as good as new as if it was never jailbroken?

Haven’t jailbroken my iPhone in a very long time, I know once you restore your iPhone it’s back to brand new, maybe someone can tell you if there is a jailbreak for 14.4.1.

There is some videos on YouTube.

Maybe someone can give you some advice before you go through with the jailbreak.

If you set up AltStore, you can sideload Cercube, which is an ad free version of YouTube

Hi just a question once I’ve done all this with altstore when I need to refresh the apps etc does my laptop need to be switched on and connected or can it be done with it switched off?

The laptop needs to be on and Altstore needs to be running.

I’d disagree with a few comments here. I’ve had the iPhone 12 Pro Max for about a month now. Great phone. Great speakers and much better than my Note 10+. The screen is definitely brighter on the Note, I’m nearly at full on the iPhone to get the same.

Someone stated that the Note can’t get brighter due to overheating issues, nope, never had that.

The battery life is about the same. The iPhone probably gets a bit more, but then it’s a new phone and I’d expect that. The Note 10 is getting on a bit now.

I run both devices and I’m starting to favour the iPhone and some areas. The running and quickness of apps is marginally better on the iPhone, again, newer phone.

Oh, and FaceID is such a joy. That’s one aspect of the Note I don’t miss. It’s so cumbersome when I have to unlock the Note.

If this random apphacks site has managed to not only crack 14.4 AND release a full untethered jb for every device I will eat my shorts. Not attacking the person I'm quoting here but this video and others like it are absolutely not legit and should be avoided. All you have to do is look at the comments to see how fake and scammy these videos are, and notice how the guy just directs you to install an unsigned profile but doesn't show the jailbreaking process or any tweaks running. 100% fake and likely malicious, please nobody EVER download profiles from random sites like this. At best you get a cydia icon on your screen that does nothing, at worst you get a virus or a backdoor on your phone.

There's no legitimate jb for anything above 14.3, Unc0ver will work on pretty much any device up to 14.3 but not 14.4. The devs are working on it and making progress but as of now nothing has been released.

That said- when a real jb comes out for 14.4/a14, yes you will be able to completely remove it later if you want.
