Currently have a iPhone 11 Pro and just got my new iPhone 12 Pro

I know its technically thinner but feels big and chunky. Also making calls and using it feels odd

I'm not all that impressed and having had every iPhone on release day this is the first time I'm not like wow

I kind of prefer my 11 pro

Anyone else feel the same ?

Would like to hear opinions on this too. Thinking of getting iPhone 11 Pro instead of 12 Pro, looking at pictures 11 looks way better, slicker, 12 looks like a brick. Squared design was fine back in the 4S days but I'm doubful about bigger sizes.

Same, posted in the first impressions thread. The 12 feels larger than my XS (which dimensionally it is), but it feels like I’m holding an 11. The square edge makes the phone feel more clunky and that was a major concern of mine.

considering trading down to the mini now.

Not at all, I hated that the 11 pro wasn’t the same screen size as the 11 but to me the pro max was way too big. This 12 pro seems perfect to me.

Just opened mine next to my 11 Pro. Personally I like the flat edges better, but the one thing I immediately noticed is the extra height. Not sure how I feel about that yet, personally I always hated making the "stretch" with one hand to reach control center, and now it is a bit worse. Width wise it is wider, but it feels the same to me.

That’s unfortunate. Every review I’ve seen and read said they loved the feel in hand. I personally cant wait for the 12 pro and the new flat edges. I loved the iPhone 4 and 5 design..favorite design by far. Not a big fan of the rounded edges design as its slippery as hell plus it was always a pet peeve of mine that I couldn’t stand it upright like the flat edge design of the 4 and 5.

The 4 was great yes but scaled up this size I'm not sure

I used my iPhone 11 Pro with a matt skin and it never felt wrong and gripped lovely. The iPhone 12 Pro looks AMAZING and on paper is thinner but once picked up and using it feels akward

I'll give it some time maybe I'll grow to like it

Look at the bright side...you won’t have to wrap the iPhone 12 pro in a matte skin as the back is already matte. :)

I too was concerned about the square edges making it seem bigger. Currently I use 11 pro max and it is borderline too big for me. With the 12 pro max being larger I was a little concerned about feel in my hand. So, I ordered a couple of cheap cases off amazon both 12 pro and max. The feeling of the max case in hand was just not comfortable with the square edges. Made it feel much bigger than the 11 pro max. I went ahead and order the 12 pro which felt much better in hand. Will see how it really feels when i pick it up.

Got my 12 pro today and it definitely feels "bigger" than my previous XS. I honestly expected it to be thinner. Its like this huge slab of cold metal instead of a smooth object. The sharp edges feel aggressive. I suppose I will get used to it, but its not as lovely to use as I hoped.

I too am concerned about the size. I am downsizing now that the 12 is a bit bigger screenwise and I currently have an 11 Pro Max which the size is questionable for me as it keeps falling out of my pocket.

Does with 12 pro, the stainless steel band, feel more grippy? Do you think it will handle well without a case. I am planning to get the 12 pro max and I am wondering if the new form factor makes it easier to hold to the point where I may not need a case at all.

Its more grippy than the previous models, but not 100% safe to handle iphone 4 style grippy. Its still glass and steel and will slide right off a sofa or fall out of drunken hands at some point. I was planning on going naked but just ordered a pikata case for it. Having said that, I am notoriously clumsy with everything.

I have the 11 Pro Max and the 12 Pro and the 12 Pro is way better feeling for me. Much easier to hold onto and isn't as slippery. The size difference helps Im sure but the main reason I got the 12 pro was the size and squared edges. I can finally go back to not using a case and not worrying about it slipping out of my hands.

Just got the 12 pro and upgrading from the iPhone X.

I have huge hands, and yet I don’t like the fact that the 12 Pro is even bigger than the X. Squared sides are nice and less slippery but there is no faking the fact that it’s just bigger...it’s massive.

I don’t like it much. The stainless steel feels a little too flashy — comparisons with the iPad Pro miss the point because aluminum is not mirror polished. Also, those long pristine shiny stainless steel sides aren’t going to look good with nicks in them. And if you put a case on it makes it even bigger.
The sides are too flashy and it’s too big. I may go towards the mini, or just hang on to the X for a couple more years.

It may feel different, but compared to the X it is 2.9mm taller, 1.5mm wider and 0.3mm thinner. That’s really not much. Maybe give it some more time to get used to it and you might like it more with the extra usable screen area.

it's like nobody's ever heard of the iPhone 4. Bunch of newbs :D

I had an iPhone 4 and it’s the last iPhone I truly liked. The sides were brushed not mirror polished, though. Big difference.

mirror polished steel is a late Jony Ive thing. It must be the time when he became more interest in designing bathroom faucets than electronic gadgets...

I know it’s thinner but I swear it feels anything but!
