I am truly miffed by Apple’s decision to make the Pro models even bigger than they already were. I love the size of the mini, but I really want the telephoto lens. Any choice I make will be a compromise, and that sucks.

You won’t notice any difference from an 11 Pro to the 12 Pro. It’s a touch taller, basically the same width and thinner. The square sides IMO also help in making the device feel better. The larger screen and flat sides may make it seem a much bigger device but it really isn’t.

I guess I’ll have to go to the store and try it in my hands.

I just decided to return my 12 pro because I cannot get used to the size+squared edges. I’m sure I’m in the minority. It’s a gorgeous looking device but feel in the hand is one of the most important things in a mobile device, especially for those who prefer one handed usage or have small hands. 12 pro requires 2 hands to be used comfortably IMO.

I had the exact opposite feeling. I can’t stop picking the phone up even if I don’t have to use it. The best form since the iPhone 5S in my opinion.

Actually the iPhone 12 pro is smaller all around compared to the iPhone 11. Height wise the 11 is 150.9mm and the 12 pro is 146.7mm. This caught me off guard as I was comparing my wife's 11 to my 12 pro. I am coming from the 11PM and am literally liking every aspect except I am having a hard time adjusting to the screen size. I am going to miss the larger screen but at this point the pros outweigh the cons. Things I like are smaller form, easier to handle one handed and its more pocketable and doesn't feel like I am carrying a heavy brick in my pocket or hands everywhere I go. iPhone 12PM is out of the question as it's even taller.
It is smaller than the 11, but not the 11 Pro which I am coming from. It's both wider and taller, but mostly taller.

After a few days I'm pretty used to it though. My biggest annoyance is just that landscape mode is like the 11 Pro and not like the 11/11 Pro Max (with sidebars in mail/messages.) Just a dumb decision from apple since it is all software and they could just change the size class to make it work in a future iOS 14 update.

Just opened mine next to my 11 Pro. Personally I like the flat edges better, but the one thing I immediately noticed is the extra height. Not sure how I feel about that yet, personally I always hated making the "stretch" with one hand to reach control center, and now it is a bit worse. Width wise it is wider, but it feels the same to me.
Have you considered using the new “back tap” setting in iOS14..Under accessibility?

Been using it for exactly what you describe (activating control centre) but it can be set for loads of other functions. Also you get to customise a function for 2 (double) tap and a separate function for 3 taps.

I have CC on double tap and screen off on triple tap. Simply tap the back of the iphone. :)

Guess i'm not the only one.

Coming from the X, the 12 Pro feels uncomfortable in my hands. It's bigger, heavier and the (beautiful) edges are not comfortable either.

I'm going to return it and might buy the Mini next year.
(Or maybe i'll try it this year, don't know yet ;) )
Exactly me too, came from an X and the pro is not comfortable. Mini should be a lot better for those who can live without the extra camera features and battery

Yes I agree 100%. While I didn't use that feature too often it was a nice feature. The 11 and 12 pro screen sizes are the same size, come on Apple!

I disagree with that. Overall yes the phone is not that much different, but coming from my iPhone 11 Pro to the iPhone 12 pro, I definitely notice the size difference. I like it, but if someone is really sold on the 11 pros size, this is different.

Anyone know the dimensions of the actual screen of the iPhone 12 pro compared to the iPhone 11 Pro screen? Not the entire phone, but just the screen. I feel iLife the screen is wider than the 11 pro, which is great for me.

Coming from iPhone XS , I love my 12 Pro ! At least it doesn't feel like I have a piece of wet soap in my hands ...

Just visit a local store, seriously in love with the iPhone 12 Pro size (Coming from Samsung Note 10 Plus which i find it too large and I assume that would be the same case as iPhone 12 Pro Max).
