Hi guys,

I'm going to switch from iphone 7 and I have an offer with 12 pro in the price of 13. I wonder, whether it would be better deal in long-term use? 6 giga ram vs 4?

That 2 GB ram more won't matter in terms of performance after couple of years?
on Android it will matter.on IOS i doubt it as the 13 has newer processors.and the 13 will have longer upgrades too. or if possible, add more money for the 13 Pro.

not much difference, to be honest
memory score for 13 is 119k and 12 Pro is 115k...so i guess its not much of a difference. i wouldnt really choose bigger ram with older processor over smaller ram with a newer processor if we're talking about IOS.

In fact, the amount of RAM is *the* deciding factor in when the device becomes obsolete in terms of iOS support.
That's what I thought to be honest. If my iphone 7 had 3 GB RAM would perform much better managing opened apps in the background.

Already switched form 7 to SE 2020.
And I'm very happy.

But yeah, 13 is better choice than 12.
Or wait until 14.

it's gonna costs much more than any of these which I consider now. My budget is limited this year and I need phone for for at least 4 years

12 pro over a 13 (non-Pro) any time

Heh, so, my previous comment notwithstanding, I would take the 13. I find that a 12 Pro was a particularly poor iteration, especially in terms of battery life where 13 excels, and differentiation from the “plain” 12. I don’t care for cameras at all so not sure if 12 Pro is superior to the 13 here though.

The 12 Pro will be supported until at least until September 2026. The 13 will be supported for one further year. So it’s your decision, you can’t really go wrong with either phone.

13 have 3more hrs of battery life

Get the 13
The pro of a previous model doesn’t always mean it’s better than current base model

Not true anymore.

The iPhone 8 will continue to be supported with only 2gb while the 7+ gets the boot.

The battery life on the 12 Pro series were not good. They corrected it in the 13 series. The 13 will last longer.

You’ll not get the telephoto lens but it’s not a big deal, personally.

I would personally get the 13 series over the 12 series. The battery in the 12 series are toast. I’ve had my 12 Pro Max for almost 2 years and the battery is at 84%. I have to charge my phone 2-3 times a day.

For now, the 12 Pro should provide the better overall experience in most cases with its extra 2GB RAM. HOWEVER, with the 12 series Apple took a step back in battery life which could be important to you as well. 4GB RAM works decently now, don't know about the future.

If the 12 Pro had good battery I'd recommend that over the standard 13 for sure. The slightly faster processor in the 13 makes little real world difference the vast majority of the time.

I would choose the iPhone 13 over the 12 Pro everyday of the week.

The iPhone 13 has a faster chip and better battery life.

In terms of specs the 12 Pro has a telephoto, 2GB more of RAM, and a LiDAR, but to me the battery life cancels those out.
