no, thats called getting it on with the time, iphone was about the only model that cost 1k+ and shipped with only 64gb of storage. you can try justifying it whatever excuse you want but saying its cheaper because they give you more base storage is definitely not one of them."The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max start at $999 and $1,099, respectively, which are the same prices that the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max were when they launched last year. However, the 256GB and 512GB storage options for both iPhone 12 Pro models are $50 cheaper than their predecessors were at those capacities."
Actually the iPhone 12 Pro is cheaper since the base storage has increased to 128GB from 64GB (which was on the 11 Pro) for the same $999 price. So many people, like myself, have no need to spend the extra money for increased storage.
The same price but without $40 of accessories. So really $40 more.
The iPhone 12 being €100 more than its direct predecessor's price point at introduction doesn't strike me as being worthy of being described as "more affordable".
Is it a nice device? Sure. Is it what we expected Apple to finally address? Still no. And these numbers make sure they won't anytime soon either.
The same price but without $40 of accessories. So really $40 more.
TRUE! Also the Playstation 5, dang get Apple to help build them!!Too bad RTX 3080/3090 couldn't get a fraction of 80 million...
For what it's worth, the mini is smaller than the 6S.The mini still is not small as my gf iPhone 5S. She also has an iPhone 6S that she calls her big phone.
Exactly. The cost for the actual phones has risen or stayed the same, and we now have to provide our own chargers (since the old ones aren't compatible). I wouldn't say that's more affordable."more affordable pricing strategy"...yeah sure
Probably because most of that growth is happening in Africa and poorer countries where they haven't the money nor the need for a fancy mobile device.Never hear about population growth...
What's bad news?More bad news for the environment.
Maybe, I don't know how one puts a wet finger in the air to come with an estimate like that.Seems like wishful thinking considering the global economy is depressed, teenagers that are likely to upgrade have no need to since they're remote learning so no need to flash they have the latest, phone is too similar to previous year's modem and a bunch of competing products like new consoles, CPUs, GPUs, etc. are competing for limited discretionary income.
Or a good portion of that 80 million chargers sold at 20$ a piece. That's 80 millions chargers less.
Unlocked iPhone 12 is $130 more in the US than the unlocked iPhone 11 was. And yeah, I was thinking the same. Not seeing how this is a "more affordable pricing strategy."
We? Are you speaking for the entire market?
For me, the iPhone 12 Pro exceeds expectations. And thus am purchasing one. I suspect many millions of others will soon be purchasing one as well.
Who us “we”? A few MR posters, or the 10s of millions buying public?
