I'm really not sure, my ideal setup would be the pro max and a mini, I can take care of the phone thing with multi sim, but the lack of whatsapp being active on both phones at the same time and having to re-pair watches is making me think I will stay with the 12 pro. I am making more fat fingered mistakes on this keyboard for sure but the 12PM looks significantly bigger. I will get one to see but will probably return it,

The single WhatsApp was a pain for me when I moved to multi sim but I gradually shut down my UK WhatsApp.
The keyboard I’m noticing more and more. I’ve also now put a case on my 11PM just to mimic the potential size of the 12PM and I’m cool with it.
Now .... if Etisalat started a cloned esim for phones (which apparently they may do in future ) I’d take a mini as well

I don’t have 12 case ..... I put my 11pm in a case to make feel slightly larger to mimic a 12 without case (if that makes sense)

Sod it, I'm going to get a mini and a pro max, the wife can have whichever one I don't decide to keep (pro or PM), going to run the pro or PM on esim and then have a physical sim on the mini using multi-sim, I'm going to download and use WhatsApp business alongside normal WhatsApp, with a different number just for the important folk, who can have both, so when I'm out on my mini they can still get me.
I have been mulling over a max and mini using an Etisalat multi sim so the same number would work on both but couldn’t see a solution to WhatsApp .... now you’ve given me food for thought 😃
I got a 256 pro max graphite and a black 128 mini both for Sunday delivery. ordered the Belkin car thing as well,
I ordered two Pro Max both 128GB one silver and one graphite, my delivery date is Sunday 15th Nov.
However, right after I placed the order, I saw "Reserve now" option was available at the time for all Max models for Saturday 14th Nov. If I knew, I would have opted for the reserving option and get it a day earlier 😂

The same happened to me when I ordered the 12 .... this time I went straight for the pick up option 😃
Just ordered a mini. On my 3rd 12 now after getting normal 12 at launch but then returning and getting a HK physical dual sims from noon (two UAE numbers). I’ve been using this setup for the last two years with XSMax and then 11 Pro but only now realised that 5G isn’t available when using dual sims. Anyway will try the mini, messed about with eSim before and hated it because of the hassle with Etisalat Business so not sure how it will work out.
I haven’t done much research but wonder if you have a dual physical and esim but leave the esim switched off does the 5G work or does it literally need to only be a single sim. .... I know that wouldn’t work for everyone but would if you only use the esim for travel (until they fix it )

I understand now reading a few things that if you are using physical+esim then 5G wont be available. If you deactivate the line by toggling it off then you get 5G on the single active line. In China eSim isn’t allowed which is why they have the Physical dual sim model and 5G works there when both lines are active. So I’m not sure if it’s a carrier limitation or eSim limitation. I will try the HK handset with two Etisalat physical sims and see if 5G works....just need to find out where there is coverage..someone mentioned Dubai Hills which is close to me.

I also wish that there is a solution to run the same WhatsApp on multiple devices. If that ever happened, I will be rocking a 12 PM and a Mini.
I really love larger screens and have used all the Max models, but there are times when you want to carry a small form factor device, and the mini is the kind of package (unlike SE 2020), which is quite attractive.
...nice to find this post cause I'm planning to get iP 12 HK model with two physical sim but just want to be a sure if there is no limitations while using here in UAE and EU...
You should be fine ... unless there is any carrier lock .... I know a couple of people with dual physical sim iPhone 11 in UAE and UK.
...for iP 11 I'm sure it's working but maybe they change their mind with iP 12...I've seen on noon.com selling HK models and if all OK I'm going to pick one...
...please can somebody share some info for iP 12 HK version with dual sim, all working OK, what about camera shutter sound, can be muted?

I am also interested to know that on Dual SIM HK version 5G is working while both SIM cards are enabled?
I can confirm 5G is disabled with two physical sims and there is no option to enable it without deactivating or removing one of the SIM cards
The camera shutter noise thing is for Japanese models. HK is euro spec with the addition of the dual sim tray. I’ve had three HK dual sim iPhones (XS Max, 11 Pro and 12) all work as expected
Thanks for confirming. It really sucks that Apple has not enabled 5G when both sim cards are enabled. I really hope that Apple fixes this in a future software update.
I m glad you mentioned that there is no stupid camera shutter noise in the HK version because that would be a deal-breaker for me 😂.
