Final review of the iphone 13. It's fine.

Would be nice indeed. There's some third party apps though.
There are? I thought it was an iOS limitation.

Do you know which ones allow for it?

Edit: I did a quick search, all the ones that go above 240fps are "simulated".

For $50 difference between iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, I don't really understand why Apple are even selling the iPhone 12.

This I don't know.. is SloPro simulated? Claims 1000 FPS.

I'd like to know if the cellular antenna changes will result in the 13 Mini get better reception than the 12 Mini here in the U.S. I had read rumblings about the 12 Mini having poor reception. There is no mention of the upgraded antenna system for the iPhone 13's in this article. Looking forward to one of the reviewers reporting on that once the review embargo ends.

I just went with T-Mobile 20% off the Max plan and iPhone 12 Pro for $170 with no trade in.

The other option would have been full price Max ($140 vs $112 I'll pay for 2 lines) and $170 iPhone 13 pro WITH trade in.

So I get a $28 cheaper plan per month and ~$350 from selling my 11. If you spread that $350 over 24 months, I'm saving ~$42 per month going with the 12 Pro over the 13 Pro.

I think I made the right decision. 13 Pro is obviously great, but the high refresh rate screen and macro photos are the only compelling change IMO. I'm actually a photo/video freelancer, and the Cinematic video thing is cool, but 99% of people will use it once (if that) and forget about it.

I'm ok with the iPhone getting thicker, but the increased weight of the Pro models has me choosing the base 13. If the iPhone 14 pro's use titanium to get the weight down again, it will be an instant buy.

I didn’t know I was posting in an english writing class
Good point! But it does make it easier to read when things are written correctly. I try not to be grammar police, but I really did have to read that same sentence at least 3 times to make sense of it.

Are you sure? The 12 to 13 has double the battery life? I thought it was just a few extra hours. What did I miss?
A few hours is right for video. Almost double for audio. Don't recall the standby times. But still, even without my hyperbolic exaggeration, there is more battery to be had in the 13 vs the 12.

From the description...

SUPER SLOW- 500fps and 1000fps can now be simulated using optical flow. Check out the in-app tutorials for tips on getting the best results.

So yeah, it's still limited to a hardware 240fps. A shame, really, after this many years zero improvement in this area.

The increased base storage in iPhone 13 is a very important factor to be considered before purchase.

Ahhh...Gotcha. I really was just viewing the video/streaming times. I didn't even look at the audio. Thanks for the clarification.

Depends on your usage. Couldn't say for the 12 but my XS gives me three or four days. Hypothetically, if I did a 0 to 100 charge/discharge. As I'm usually charging from 40 to 80 I get about a day and a half. Extra battery life wouldn't mean much to someone like me.

The faster CPU is what would sell the extra expense though.
So, as someone that hasn't had an iPhone in awhile, would the 12 be ok? Or should I just get the 13?

Well that too depends on your usage. I still use an I phone XS. I still think it’s fast and an overall good phone. So either of those would be excellent to me.

I'm not a power user like most on here probably are. I don't game

Well, I'm not a power user. I don't game much. I mostly surf the web, use YouTube and Spotify. I keep my phones for awhile, so if it wasn't for iOS updates, I'd get the 11.

The 12 should be more than enough. I do that with no speed issues on my XS.
