Getting tired of seeing the same old youtubers with the same old pwwwesents gifted from Apple. I read The Verge and that's it for a constructive review.
yeah The vErGe are really constructive. You should them construct a gaming PC.

Just 2 years ago Apple wouldn't give the time of day to Mrwhostheboss. Despite at the time having around 2 million subs. Probably 'cause his channel is all phones and most models are android. But now with almost 9 million subs Apple wants those 18 million eyeballs to see all the iPhones.

Thanks man.

Definitely the mini works for me, I don't need all the pro features beyond what seems to be tantalizing of the 120hz variable refresh rate.

Key points:
1.5hrs claimed increase of battery life,
larger sensors letting more light in & sensor shift tech on the Ultra Wide camera,
HDR with Dolby Vision 4K @ 60fps (12 mini had 4K @ 30 fps)
800 nits typical max brightness (12 mini had 625), HDR Max brightness is the same at 1200 nits.
Wireless Charging is an improvement:
  • MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W (12 mini only supports 12w in MagSafe).
  • Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W
Interestingly the specs for the 12 mini still says it can wirelessly charge via MagSafe at 15W. The footnote only says “wireless chargers are sold separately”. This is both on their website and the Apple Store app. But there’s a support article from Apple saying it’s 12W. So maybe it’s the same for the 13 mini (which also says 15W).

I would rather watch paint peel then these yearly robotic idiots. Especially with their stupid over the top herp derp surprised faces. Pisses me off Apple sends them so many. One of each color? Really? All 1TB models as well. This is another reason why shortages happen at launch.
Agreed, but The Verge one steered away from herp derp, and towards answering real questions. Like whether this upgrade cycle is mostly for enthusiasts, and what the incremental changes actually mean.

The Pacific Blue for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max looks way better than this new lighter blue. The new lighter blue looks kind of granny jewelry, or something.

I secretly kind of miss all that turquoise jewelry, my grandmother loved it but my mother never took up the habit.

Though I'm not big on the new blue either. I'm still holding out hope for something a bit more bold on a Pro or Pro Max, but I quite like my Pacific Blue, especially with a red case. The contrast is neat.

iJustine's video is so much more informative than the longwinded Verge review, and she shows us what the phone is capable of, (with actual comparisons to the iPhone 12 of macro performance, stabilization, and so on) something the verge fails to do. iJustine's photography, sound and editing are top-notch as well. Max Tech's videos are also crazy good.

The macro comparison she showed was great shows how much better the 13 pro is.

iJustine is a woman, dude. But at least now we understand...
No I know she’s a woman a terribly eccentric annoying one. She does about everything except review products, the last thing I saw. All she did was do light saber affects and say it’s so pretty, it’s so pretty.
Just a girl that’s good looking w crap reviews. People clicking thumbs up all day for her.
I forget his name, but there’s an African I enjoy his videos more professional and he’s better about actually going through things against old and new.
She’s just having fun, she doesn’t even need apple products in video they will still follow her

The Canadian site I’m viewing doesn’t say that. Plus the page screenshot is cropped so can’t agree you’re actually looking at the iPhone 12 mini here.

more specifically is the bullet “10” listed. Goto the BERy bottom of that page and it specifically states “Up to 15W”. There is a reason it states that.

The screenshots are for the iPhone 12 and 12 mini from the Apple Store app and I am in Australia. But even the USA site says up to 15W for both models:

The footnote "12" only says "wireless chargers sold separately".

If the iPhone 12 mini can't be wirelessly charged up to 15W, but only up to 12W, I'm not sure why it says so.

I'm aware of the support article, thus the confusion.

Agreed.

This is definitely an Apple issue, I suspect since Apple has still yet to properly market the mini as a product. Even on their site you have to select "iPhone 13" in order to see the mini or a full site search.

yet the iPhone SE got that love?

Does the 12 even have a macro mode? Not sure what there is to compare?
Still not worth the upgrade.

Doesn’t change the fact taking close up shots was bad on the 12 pro line. On the 13 pro you get amazing close up shots

If you care about high refresh rates and cameras/video improvements it’s worth it

I Certainly couldn’t use a phone going into 2022 with just 60hz that’s for sure

I wouldn’t upgrade a one year old phone just for pro -motion, which will be there next year with the true upgrade. Once that notch disappears those 13s will look dated as heck. Next year will be a super cycle. This year reminds me of the iPhone 7.

Well, most aren't upgrading a one year old phone, so straw man argument.

Three year cycles make more sense.

And the iPhone 13 is so superior to iPhone 7, your comment makes little sense.
