Of course they've moved the camera module slightly. Gotta make 'em buy a whole new case. Can't have people using their iPhone 12 case on their iPhone 13, can we?

That's why the iPad mini 4 was 3.2mm taller than the iPad mini 3. Not big enough to notice. Not big enough to make major changes inside. But just big enough to make you buy a new case.

just make the phone thicker so the camera does not stick out. add more battery in that extra space. why is that so difficult?

For the Pro Max concerns about weight is probably a big issue. An awful lot of people complain about the weight already and adding say 20% more volume by doing when you suggest and filling that with battery would add about 20% more weight to a device that many already consider too heavy. I‘m a 12 Pro Max user, I love it and I’m OK with the weight but I would be a bit nervous that it might move out of even my acceptability limits if the Pro Max got significantly heavier.

One thing I wonder if they could do is at least partially ditch the glass on the back. Going into an Apple store when the iPhone 5 was launched and feeling how much lighter it was in my hand vs my 4 was a real “oh wow” moment for me and I think a lot of that was done by not having a glass back. Of course now we have wireless charging so an all metal back like the 5 is not possible but could something be done with a central EM-transparent area for charging or some EM-transparent material for the back that was much lighter than glass but still looked premium hence almost certainly not plastic? This is what I suspect is “so difficult” about what you suggest - overcoming the concerns about weight at least on the bigger models.

For the record I am totally obsessed with battery life, it is almost the only thing I care about now when it comes to iPhone specs, and I would be dancing in the streets if Apple could solve that weight problem and do what you suggest.

I hope on the new silver model they make the apple logo a little more darker on the back glass. Couldn’t see it to well on the 12 Pro silver model.

People need to stop complaining and grow up. Once people are bigger, the Pro Max will feel neither big nor heavy. :D

The only feature interesting to me about the 13 is the rumored extended battery life. Other than that, my 12 pro will last until 14 comes out, maybe 15 or 16.

I always go with the highest end model. I find I can usually get another year or two out of them that way. 4 years with current phone...I think the 13 pro max will be my jam. Fingers crossed they are bringing back that dark green color again!!!!

I hate the idea of an always on screen. No matter how little it sips the battery, it will be eating at me that the inside of my pocket is the only audience for this barely useful information 95% of the time.

Adjust it just enough so Iphone 12 cases won't work because at apple they care so much about the environment /s...

Wake me up when there is no notch/real full screen phone, 120hz display and Touch ID back. In the meantime I’m happy with my 12pro max. No need to upgrade unless there is a buy one get one deal. These small changes arent exciting to me. I was excited for the new shape of the 12’s And the camera But that’s about it.

And who has just 1 case?

Interesting, I have completely missed the fact that the 12 Pro is bigger than the 11 Pro. And the 12 is smaller than the 11. Maybe I'll wait for the 14s.

Yes. I was hoping for a sphere or pyramid. Again I’ve been let down.

{Hey is that a pyramid iPhone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? 😂}
Well Apple themselves managed to transition from the ages old Palm and feature phone into a new design 14 years ago. Wouldn't mind them revolutionising once again.
(No, "why change it if it works" is just another word for laziness.)

I agree with you. 12PM is already a heavy piece. My phone is my primary work tool so i use it quite a lot during the day so from a battery perspective the Max models are a no brainer...But the weight..So i´m stuck with a 12P for now.

Here´s hoping Apple does not increase weight on the 13PM!

I still don't understand why they need 4 models each year. Surely an 'iPhone 13' in 3 sizes would make more sense. Non of this 13 and 13 pro nonsense fragmentation, especially when there's a new release every single year.

It’s only been around for a single generation. The iPhone 6-era design lasted for six years (if you count the iPhone X, XS, and 11 Pro as part of that design).

Personally, I love it, but given that this design style has been applied to the iPads and new iMac as well as rumored for the next MacBook Pro and even  Watch, I don’t see it going away anytime soon.

Arguably the design has been around since at least the iPhone 11, maybe even iPhone X

They want to cater to different buyers while pushing the Pros and their price point. The ones that don't need the specs and camera will opt for the cheaper standard 13, but more importantly for them, the ones that want the best specs and best camera option will feel better paying more for a Pro phone.
