This year I'm buying the pro max. Hoping for major camera improvements and a larger sensor.
the sensor only makes sense if the computational capabilities are in line. iphone camera dont use alot of AI to improve and reduce the noise and as a result ip12pro pics r so meh. and the camera isnt even in the top20.
having a slightly bigger sensor makes no impact but if the sensor was 3-5-10X bigger of course then u can see the improvements even without the AI

This is the 4th of july fireworks challenge I have a pixel4xl and i dont think your fireworks pics will be any good but if u think u r up to try to beat me why dont u guys try to beat me and show if ur iphone are even any good.

this is for still shots only

just make the phone thicker so the camera does not stick out. add more battery in that extra space. why is that so difficult?
Besides an obsession with thin/light, I think it has to do with the internal layout. It's not arbitrary to simply increase the depth for more battery without having empty spaces that compromise stability. The iPhone X was the first time Apple employed an 'L-shaped' battery (basically two rectangles), so I doubt they're capable of getting batteries that can fill more weirdly-shaped free space. They would essentially have to redesign the whole layout to achieve a depth with no camera bump, which would mean a redesign of the manufacturing process (costly pain).

Adjust it just enough so Iphone 12 cases won't work because at apple they care so much about the environment /s...
It's not Apple's fault. No one forced all of these case-making companies to flood the market with their (mostly-crap) smelly plastic products thinking consumers were going to run out and buy them all. They assumed that Apple won't change the design from one year to the next...and you know what happens when you assume?

Try using a android for a while then iPhone will excite you, happened at work they got us android phones, purchasing guy said he got 2 for 1 pricing, after a month no one would use them, battery drain was bad, constantly restarting because it would freeze.

that’s not what i mean. For my usage, I feel my iphone 12 mini suits me for at least 3-4 years. So there’s no big things coming in the 13 mini to get me excited. I wish the 120hz comes to the mini too since I love small phones too much.

I still don't understand why they need 4 models each year. Surely an 'iPhone 13' in 3 sizes would make more sense. Non of this 13 and 13 pro nonsense fragmentation, especially when there's a new release every single year.
They do it that way as an upsell just like with the "pro" ipad. There isn't really anything "pro" about the device, but it adds to apple's profit margin.

Man the bootlicking is real with you. So instead of blaming apple (who will do something like make it .2 mm thicker so cases (even the own apple cases) won't fit, and you blame it on the case manufacturers l o l. I could see if they were changing the designs drastically year to year, but come on, Apple comes out and says they are leaving out the charging brick because of the environment, yet single-handedly is responsible for all the waste when they reuse the design (which I am fine with btw) but change just enough that the previous-gen cases won't fit. No different than when they went from the X-Xs and made the camera module a little larger so X cases didn't fit.

Ordinarily what you say makes total sense , unless it’s about the max phones which are already too heavy and a pain to hold for a prolonged period.

What they really need is better battery tech combined with more efficient hardware to get more efficiency.. something I’m sure they are doing but not fast enough hence why my 11 Pro Max is a brick!

I’ve got you beat on grammar alone.

Looks like more of the usual incremental upgrades we are used to. And as ever I will just get it and use it.

I will be getting one simply because I have dropped my current 12 so many times [always falling out a certain pair of pants pockets……].
the durability to survive said drops [onto concrete] has been very impressive.

I don't think Apple will do something like this! If you look at the Pro cameras the top one is smaller than the other two! If one thing Apple showed us is that they like symmetry :)
Technically still symmetrical, the axis is just tilted diagonally to the left

Which Android did you get? I have never had problem with my Android. From cheap Motorola G8 Power to Pixel 4A.

The camera arrangement doesn’t bother me. I’m just hopI get they have the 13 in Purple and I would also welcome an always on display.

Hopefully, they’ll either re-use or improve on the Tech used on the Apple Watch to support its Always on display…🤔

Smaller components will help too if space savings are enough to allow them to shrink the overall size of the PCB thus leaving more space for a bigger battery. I'm hoping that might be one consequence of Apple finally getting its in-house modem design team to the stage where its designs are going into phones. I'm wondering if, when that is all 100% under Apple's control, it might offer some increased integration options so that multiple chips can be consolidated, or at least co-packaged, which might save a worthwhile amount of PCB space and leave more internal space left over for the battery.

Better battery tech? Definitely but with so many promising new technologies being reported and then never seeming to make it into production because they are too expensive, too fragile, or have some other show-stopping practical issues it almost feels like waiting for nuclear fusion power plants - constantly just out of reach despite all the research. I suppose one day one of these technologies promising to double or triple charge density will make it to affordable mass production and then a lot will change - phones, tablets, laptops, earbuds not to mention bigger stuff like electric cars.

Well Apple themselves managed to transition from the ages old Palm and feature phone into a new design 14 years ago. Wouldn't mind them revolutionising once again.
(No, "why change it if it works" is just another word for laziness.)
What would you like to see changed? What could they do to please you?

The 13 mini will be my jam. Last of the small size phones.
13 mini is my jam this year after September as well.
iPhone news don’t excite me anymore. Bring on the Mac!
only if they bring the MBP 14” and 16” correct this time, no more keyboard issues, no more gutting performance on the small low end models to make the top end models seem decent. No chumping on ports for the low end vs the top end.
right there with you. love my 12 mini.
We here :: love my 12 mini.
I'll take a cylinder form factor. Now we're talking... :D
LOL … So you want another lipstick phone? Didn’t work for Nokia too well but I think Mila jovavich may have one to sell you.
