Wide angel lenses do not need wide aperture, there is plenty of light coming, because it's a wide angle.
Let's see the telephoto getting f/1.8

Because, with the microscopic sensors and lenses used in phones megapixels is the last thing that matters.Excuse me but who the heck needs “significantly improved low light performance”? It is pretty good already Apple, thank you! How about a significant <— yes, SIGNIFICANT bump in raw resolution (as in megapixels)? The ancient iphone 6S had a 12 mp sensor and so does the iphone 12. Competing products are far to lightyears ahead!
The iPhone 12 Pro Max camera is brilliant. It's only going to get better.
I'm guessing the Periscope Camera Module will be available in 2022 iPhone series.

Yet they will continue using the same 12mp resolution they have been using for years...
what about the main camera's sensor/lens? any expected improvements there?
I have the 12 Pro Max and could not really care about the ultra-wide. I don’t use that lens for more than 1% of photos. Nearly all my photos are with either using the standard (60%) or tele (40%) lensI bought the Pro for its cameras, but I wish I could say I used the ultra-wide more. My primary reason for buying the Pro over the non was its inclusion of the zoom, which is far more practical in everyday use. Word is they'll be adding more reach to the zoom down the line, which will likely be my next upgrade.
who said that? Kuo said no major changes to the main lens. that doesn't mean no improvements.I thought the rumours pointed to no significant camera updates for the next couple of years?
