The first reviews of Apple's newly-introduced Green and Alpine Green color options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro have now been shared by various media outlets and YouTubers, and the general consensus is that the new shades are very saturated compared to similar colors from other smartphone makers, but still make for a subtle color option overall.

The new green color options for the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro follow the introduction of the Purple iPhone 12 last year. Green for the iPhone 13‌ and ‌iPhone 13‌ mini is a dark, forest-like green, while the Alpine Green for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is lighter. ZDNet's Jason Cipriani commented:
The iPhone 13's green color is glossy, like the rest of the color options, and looks more like a camouflage green to my eyes. It's as dark as the photos on Apple's website look, but perhaps slightly more vibrant.

[...]

As with the rest of the color options for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, Alpine Green has a matte finish to it. It's a lighter version of camouflage green. I can't decide which color I like more, Sierra Blue or Alpine Green.

The Verge's Allison Johnson said that the new green shades are both better than the green color offered with the Samsung Galaxy S22:
The regular green on the standard iPhone is a little more saturated, more Kelly green than I was expecting. It also makes the Apple logo stand out more than I like. Alpine green is a bit softer and more muted. And sitting side by side by side, they both make the green S22 look much less green than I thought it was and more of a deep blue-green.

[...]

In any case, a green phone just looks different, but not in an attention-hungry kind of way. It's a subtle statement, something that makes you wonder about the person carrying it...

[...]

Anyway, the iPhone 13 Pro is the current best green phone, followed by the standard iPhone 13, and the Galaxy S22 ranks third.

Similarly, Engadget's Cherlynn Low compared the new green iPhones to the Sage Pixel 5 and the "Mostly Black" Pixel 5a, but ultimately concluded that the Midnight Green of the iPhone 11 Pro was better than Apple's new offerings.

Apple continues to sell the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro in all of its other colors, including Black, White, Blue, Green, and (PRODUCT)RED. Pricing starts at $699 for the iPhone 13 mini and $999 for the iPhone 13 Pro in the United States. Pre-orders of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro in Green and Alpine Green opened earlier today.

I was never a fan of these washed out colors on the 12 Pro/13 Pro's. But I don't ever buy a special colored iPhone, it's always whatever is a darker gray or black. It doesn't matter for me since I always wear a full cover back case, making colors irrelevant.

Man if only the green pro was available at launch, so much nicer than the sierra blue...
I had the same thought. If I knew green had been a choice I would have held on to my 11pro, but then I would probably have waited for the 14 pro lol.

I am glad they did some saturation to the green, the midnight green was almost grey.

Now I just wish they would go back to a chassi with rounded edges, even today 11pro seems more like a next gen phone, design wise and much more comfortable to hold.

Looking at those greens side-by-side is annoying. You mean to tell me that "pros" don't want rich deep green? Why are all of our colors muted? Why can't I have 3 cameras and a hot pink model? I want iPhone XR kind of colors, bright yellow and blue and green. They took the 13 green and turned saturation down by 50% and threw on a haze filter.

Apparently Apple only knows how to muster a bold or flashy red these days. That's a pity. I hope they find those bright, saturated colors again.

Well, I'm standing my ground and not giving them any views :)

At the end of the day its just a colour to a phone that we had before. I would understand iPhone SE reviews with this included as a short 'segment' but having separate video for just a colour is very sad

Easy views... I was expecting Rene to have a 10min video with a sponsorship even for something so minor.

Must be a lot of nudists or clear case folks around, my phone never leaves its Otterbox Defender so color is not on my list of cares.

Alpine Green looks sensational but I would be less than impressed by this iteration if Apple had managed to troll me into buying the somewhat weak looking Sierra Blue at time of purchase.

Nothing new under the sun of course but this one feels very deliberate to me. Sierra Blue was never strong enough to be the signature Pro colour like Ocean Blue and Midnight Green that came before it.

I don’t get it. Why is it sad?
