Hi again!

I went to local electronics store (official Apple reseller) and compared my 13 mini screen with store models.

They had two 13 Pros, two 13s and one 13 mini, and they were all crap.

All displays looked less "attractive" compared to mine, some going towards green and other towards red/pink tint. For me it was much more annoying. White consistency in different viewing angles was terrible on all devices. And what's (not so) funny, the worst display was one of the Pros - despite the greenish muddy tint, colors were dull, less "vibrant", it also seemed like the display was less "sharp" (not sure how's that possible).
All devices had the same settings: maximum brightness, night shift & true tone off, auto brightness off, no color filters.

Now I should take back what I previously said. My 13 mini is not that bad and I'm getting used to it. lol

It's really a shame for Apple. Always expected best (or at least good) quality, and this display lottery thing is far below expectations.

On the side note... Image stabilisation for videos is AMAZING. Coming from ip8, I'm shocked by what this little thing can do with videos. Makes me want to record videos instead of taking pictures. ;)

This is truly sad to hear.
viewing angles on these OLED panels should be near perfect like my XS Max
The only thing I can think of is they are calibrated every 100 or ?? So iPhone screens,
and letting the rest pass by.
I really hope my two are perfect or I’m on the phone with Apple for sure

Had this phone replaced due to extreme red tint o right side of display.

The replacement iPhone 13 Pro Max came in a refurbished box today, so that tells me Apple is aware of discrepancies in display quality. My new phone is less warm, brighter, sharper, shows more contrast, and doesn’t have the tint issue.

Hmm, that one's pretty bad.

The panels seem much more consistent this year as I just got a 13PM for my wife and her screen looks very uniform at 5 percent gray just like mine that I got last Saturday.

Is Samsung the only display unit in iPhone 13 Pro?!

My silver Pro looks amazing but my graphite one is slightly too yellow.

That‘s annoying, I wanted to keep they grey model.

My new 13 PM is slightly yellowish compared to my previous X but not as the 12 PMs that I had to return. I don't know if return it or keep it. Definitely, these iPhones are unable to reproduce well-balanced whites like any other screens (compared to iPhone X, S21, LG Oled TV, Macbook Pro, etc.)

Same with my 13Pro, coming from the ip7 it was quite a shock but from what I’ve read it’s somewhat due to the OLED technology. So Accessibility menu>color filters and turning off true-tone seems to correct it for the most part.
I tried the color filters but it also affects other colors as well and the overall brightness because it puts like a filter on top of the image. Apple should give the user the ability to calibrate the screen with some presets or by choosing the screen temp at least, just like Samsung and many others.

I don't know but receiving a refurbished unit to replace a new and almost unused one is not a great feeling.

This display is much better than the the original. The panel is G9N and the white balance is less red, a bit more blue (still reddish hue because it’s an OLED display).

What was weird though with both phones was True Tone keeping both phones yellow. It took a few days, but both are now dynamically adjusting the display to be cooler/warmer depending on the scenario. The screens refused to turn blue tinted unless I was outside, but now True Tone works properly indoors.

I think these new sensors may be more accurate, but take awhile for some reason to calibrate. Unless iOS 15.1 fixed that.

Anyways, old phone is now going back.”, as everything else is working fine on the new phone. Also, the Max battery life is crazy (8 hour use and only 52% went down from browsing/messaging/streaming)

You’re not crazy. I was tripping out for a whole day before I looked this up. Apparently my old iPhone 12 Pro had the same issue before I sent it in for trade in. Apple Management even called me to understand why I would send them the new Max back. I told them a lot of stuff I knew from the internet and experience in Geek Sqaud and they weren’t surprised about the red tint..

That did not surprise me that they weren’t surprised…

Good to know. My screen panel start why G9L. Is not perfect but is very close to my X. Blacks are deep and I’m digging this screen.

I see, I wonder if this problem can be fixed by comparing the models.
Unfortunately not, it’s one of the many flaws you get with oled technology, that’s why apple has switched to mini led for their iPad Pro 12.9” better color accuracy and no color shift.

Micro led is meant to be even better. 😊

Preorders in 7h24m 🤭😳 Good luck, hopefully you get one for launch day delivery. 🙏

Thanks! I have a feeling I won’t lol I’m having doubt. Apple has been playing too many games lately. However I’ll try. I hate ordering Apple Watch. The pre-order sucks for the Watch.

They don’t even have the color selection for the stainless and titanium models on their website, seriously apple. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
