Hey all.. My iPhone 13 Pro Max flashlight comes on by itself for no apparent reason. I've not activated it on purpose. There have been times when I've put it away in my pocket and pulled it out an hour later or more to find the flashlight on. I then manually deactivate it. Very annoying and uses battery. Anyone else see this or know of a fix? I've been noticing this for quite some time on and off. I keep hoping with the each update it will be fixed, but hasn't been yet. I want to say it started on iOS 15 or 15.1 but not 100% sure. I'm on latest iOS 15.5..

I have the same f... problem
is people like you and me pay Apple 1000 paunds for a touch screen when we f... dont have the option to f... turn that stupid flashlight off
sorry my friend , hopefully iOS17 will fix that

If it’s any consolation, iOS 15 is the end of the road for iPhone 6S and iPhone 7. They can’t run iOS 16. That being so, Apple will make sure that the remaining bugs in iOS 15 get ironed out by next year because those phones are going to be stuck on it forever.

Facing skin side.. but I believe it's coming on while handling it.

It's because you have Back Tap set to activate the flashlight.

Settings->Accessibility->Touch->Back Tap

As the display is facing skin side, the capacitance will activate as the fabric between your leg and the display is too thin; therefore, the touch sensor will assume you are pressing the LED button. I would suggest you flip it.

Wow.. That must have gotten turned on in an update.. I had that disabled before.. Good call! Thanks!

It happens to me. So I always mind putting my phone with display side facing forward. That way my leg doesn't "activate" the camera or flash.
I always wear cargo pants/shorts.. I ALWAYS put my screen facing in to protect from screen cracks/breaks. Always walking by something close and whack something.. I'm sure having screen in has saved my phones many times over the years..
