By the time we get to the iPhone 18 it’s gonna be so fast it’ll react to your presses before you make them
That's what I used to say when the MacIntosh IIFX came out..I had the IICX with a 25Mhz CPU and the IIFX came out next year with a 40Mhz CPU...I said that it would be finished before you took your finger off the keyboard.....came out in 1990 with 4GB RAM and with the 160 MB HDD it was $10,969.00

Massive improvement! World-class high performance chip.

As expected, it should only get better. This is great news 📰

The new iPad Mini shares the A15 5-core GPU with the 13 Pro, making it a great device to hook-up to a 4K screen via usb-c to play games...

I'm interested to know what CPU architecture has been implemented. Do we think it has been updated to v9? Or is it still V8.5-A like A14?

Kra-Kow!

4GB. In 1990 that computer would’ve been closer to $10,000,000.

Once again the competition has been left for dead. 😎🤯😱🤭🤩😍
Because...? It's like the iPhone 13 is a new car that can go 515 MPH and the competition can go only 460 MPH? Either car is already too fast for most people and most are not interested. Is anyone with a flagship Android phone complaining that their GPU is too slow? It's just another new model with yet more "speed" to sell more phones.

BUT, I'm still going to get one! :)

So true. In a few years people will be on here griping about how sluggish their iPhone 13 is with iOS 17.

Yup, software is how Apple "encourages" (to not say forces) device upgrades people holding on to old iPhones.

Now that Apple won't harass people to upgrade to the most recent iOS, I plan to keep my 11 Pro on iOS 14 as long as I'm allowed to. There are zero features in iOS 15 that interest me.

That's fine, so long as those cores are used to assist image processing from the cameras. Otherwise I have no use for that extra graphical power.

Not even close. This is embarrassing 🙈
There is some question about that result. I do wonder about the fact they’re going with a Mali GPU. My US version S21 Ultra has an Adreno and I think it’s been reported to perform better than the Mali one in other versions.

But according to this article the Pixel 5 had an Adreno GPU and that was a poor performer so going with Mali now is apparently a good thing?

It will be interesting to see real world results. I’ve seen tests from a couple of years ago where Samsung phones performed smoother and dropped fewer frames than the iPhones they were compared to at the time, despite Apple having the usual bragging rights on benchmarks. It may have been due to the Samsungs having better thermal management.

It doesn’t matter to me personally anymore. Bejeweled isn’t particularly taxing. 🤣
