The joke was because you listed the RAM in GB. When RAM back then was in MB. A few MB of RAM in 1990 cost thousands of dollars. A GB of RAM was unheard of.

The IIfx topped off at 128MB. 128MB would’ve been more than the average yearly income of multiple people in 1990 combined. Don’t care to pull out an old MacWorld to see exactly how much.
You are completely correct....it was a typo on my part........I have not thought in MB in decades.👍 very true and our original Avid editing system at work had external hard drives that were the size of the Manhattan business to business yellow pages and double the weight. They were 3 GB each and you needed to use them in pairs....SCSI 1....$5K each

Don't have any of those giants. But I do have a 5.25" HDD I pulled from a IIx. Which is now powering my Macintosh II.

I am conditionally OK with a smaller CPU jump on the A15, because Apple is starting to concede a two to three year refresh cycle on the phones. However, those same CPU engineers need to give us an M1X or M2 capable of 3 monitors, and they need to build a Mac Pro chip. They might just be busy doing so.

Even so, we used to be happy with tock years out of Intel with only 5 or 10 percent performance increases. If Apple has a bad year and only increases 5 or 10 percent, that’s still not that bad.

Because...? It's like the iPhone 13 is a new car that can go 515 MPH and the competition can go only 460 MPH? Either car is already too fast for most people and most are not interested. Is anyone with a flagship Android phone complaining that their GPU is too slow? It's just another new model with yet more "speed" to sell more phones.

BUT, I'm still going to get one! :)
maybe gamers or video editors?
