Anyone else noticing this? When scrolling in Safari, if you just flick the page and let it come to a stop, the last little bit will be very noticeably jittery. As in, I’ve never noticed it on any normal iPhone and I immediately noticed it on the 13 Pro.

It’s like the dynamic refresh rate isn’t doing its job correctly. Like, it’s going way too low to still show a smooth motion.

this is noticeable in other apps like books too, but it’s especially noticeable in safari.

you can test it on any thread on this forum if you have an iPhone 13 pro

I have been noticing this too in many apps, but it seems especially bad in safari. I think you are correct about it lowering the refresh rate before the scrolling animation is complete. It’s incredibly annoying. At this point, I wish there was a way to turn off the variable refresh rate.

Also, how did Apple not notice this before the phone shipped? It’s pretty freaking obvious

Have just been looking for this on my 13 Pro and.. I don’t see it at all. Safari and other apps are perfectly smooth scrolling right to the end. This is on 15.02 but can’t say I noticed it at all before that either.

Yesterday I purchased 13 pro max and after few hours I updated to 15.0.2 . I am noticing heavy screen jittery or stuttering or flickering what it’s really called. 1st i noticed on twitter app then in safari and now i am noticing most of the app.

I am also at 15.0.2 ,but stuttering is their especially in safari ,twitter app and apple store app

Not seeing it here at all in any of those apps. You only bought your phone yesterday, perhaps it’s getting bogged down in background tasks? I’d wait and see if it’s still there in a couple of days.

mine still have even at 15.0.2, stuttering all the way. I woder if it is due to changing refresh rate. But mg M1 ipad pro is fine

Its been 3 days and no any changes at all . Already did a factory reset still its same . Can i exchange it , anybody suggest

Sharing a video , you can see when scrolling ends thier is a little jittery or shakiness in the end

Sorry, it may be my eyes but I’m not really seeing a problem in that video - not sure if I’m missing it or if the video itself is smoothing things out (I don’t imagine it’s 120fps?) - hard to say. I think if you’re unhappy with it and it’s bugging you then it’s worth seeing if you can exchange it. Unless there’s an Apple store or similar nearby where you could try some others out, see if you’re seeing the same thing?

Yes i think video is not showing exactly what i want to show. Maybe its due to quality of shared video , But i can see very clearly on my iphone. When scrolling in safari or on few other app their is a jittery or shakiness at the end of every scrolling.

I’m having the same issue with my 13 pro max and it didn’t start happening until after the 15.0.2 update. Attached a video where you can clearly see it happening.

I am watching a video in picture-in-picture and scrolling in Safari and it is very smooth, no juddering at all. I using iOS 15.0.2. Everything is fast and fluid.

Only noticed it in Tapatalk. Scrolling in Safari has been buttery smooth for me.

I'm having this same problem with an iPhone 13 -- not Pro. Most apps are jittery when scrolling -- both Apple and third-party. It reminds me of screen tearing I've seen in games when vsync is disabled. Gmail is completely unusable on my phone due to how bad it stutters when scrolling.

If I enable limit Frame Rate, I can see a small judder when I scroll. Maybe Accessibility->Motion->Limit Frame Rate got enabled some how.

I just tried browsing idropnews.com in Safari on 13 Pro Max that is running iOS 15.0.2 and I see a slight stuttering happening. No where near as bad as what you are experiencing but some stuttering happening none the less.

EDIT: A few moments ago, I was starting to have more severe stuttering happen even on MacRumors. It was really getting bad. I killed off and restarted Safari and everything is back to scrolling smoothly, even idropnews website.

Yes i agree , stuttering is not always and after restarting safari it gone but again after few hours it starts.
And stuttering is not only in safari browser its present in almost all apps like apple store , app store , twitter app, facebook, etc
