iPhone 13 Pro iPhone 13 Pro, ProMotion jitter at low scrolling speeds?

Yes i agree , stuttering is not always and after restarting safari it gone but again after few hours it starts.
And stuttering is not only in safari browser its present in almost all apps like apple store , app store , twitter app, facebook, etc
Do you have enabled Low Power Mode?

I’ve been seeing the same issue. However mine stutters when I scroll the page up (swipe down) rather than scrolling down (swipe up). Does anyone’s phone do that too?

I decided to return mine rather than exchange. In the past I've played the exchange game with Apple only to later learn it was a software issue, and I suspect that is the case here. It was too noticeable and annoying to put up with, though. Thankfully I kept my S20 rather than sending in the trade quickly.

OS also measures the speed of your finger when touching the screen and adjusts the refresh rate as needed. That means that if the content on the screen is stationary, the ProMotion display can go as low as 10Hz. Scrolling at a fast speed, on the other hand, can kick things up to 120Hz.

Anyone else noticing this? When scrolling in Safari, if you just flick the page and let it come to a stop, the last little bit will be very noticeably jittery. As in, I’ve never noticed it on any normal iPhone and I immediately noticed it on the 13 Pro.

It’s like the dynamic refresh rate isn’t doing its job correctly. Like, it’s going way too low to still show a smooth motion.

this is noticeable in other apps like books too, but it’s especially noticeable in safari.

you can test it on any thread on this forum if you have an iPhone 13 pro
Getting the same on my iPhone 13 pro even after updating to 15.1. Interestingly I’m also getting the same symptom’s on my MacBook Pro 2021 so it must be the 120/60hz refresh rate transition. Hope they sort it soon bc it’s really annoying. ?

Yes me too

Just bought a 13 pro max and am having a similar issue. There’s a jitter whenever I scroll slowly or let the scroll slow to a stop. Is anyone else still experiencing this? I’m on iOS 15.4.1. Don’t know if this is a software or hardware thing, or normal behavior for a screen with variable refresh rate

Mines still doing it after 8 months and latest updates. Took it to Genius Bar and they said it must be software (apps) doing it and said to back up and do fresh install and see if it does it before putting all your stuff back on. Haven’t got around to doing it yet.

Is there a specific app where it’s visible? I got my wife a 13 PM recently and I don’t see this behavior.

Does it for every app. It even does it when I turn on screen recording which apparently is supposed maintain 120hz the whole time you’re recording so I’m not sure it’s a variable refresh thing

Not on my 13 Pro Max running 15.4. I'm about to update to 15.4.1 but I don't suspect that will effect it.

I would say if you have this issue and it really bugs you then restore to clean factory settings (not to a backup) and see if that fixes it.

I just did a factory restore and just put twitter on as the only 3rd party app and tried it and it’s still the same for me. It’s worse on twitter, do you have twitter and does it consistently scroll smoothly?

I just reinstalled twitter to check and scrolling seems normal. I mean maybe my eyes aren't picking up something but I don't see anything

15.4 fixed all the 120hz issues
Awesome! I'm not sure if I ever had scrolling issues but I know earlier in iOS 15 it was a buggy mess so maybe I didn't notice.

Not on my 13 pro, but i set up as new. I know it’s a pita, but I’ve been doing it this way since the original iPhone. For a new phone anyways.
