Wondering whether or not I should get a screen protector put on my iPhone 13 Pro. I will be purchasing AppleCare for it but I’ve always been on and off about putting another piece of glass over the screen.

What are all your opinions on it? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Yes. Every time I decide to go without a screen protector for a few months I end up with micro scratches and regret. I’m not worried about cracking the screen, but I always end up throwing the phone in my pocket with sand/keys/metal wallet without thinking about it.

I always use both a screen protector and a case. My phone doesn't get babied and I'm outdoors in dusty/dirty environments a lot. I'd rather replace a screen protector/case once in a while rather than deal with a permanently scratched up screen.

The one time I went with no screen protector my finger swipes took the oleophobic coating off the glass over time. Never again. The glass ones are super cheap at like, TJ Maxx. Won't pay 40$ plus, they are no better.

You’re probably not looking close enough or not putting it in your pockets then
If I have to look that close, twist it, use a special light, then I don't care. :)

I put it everywhere. Pockets, car, table, beach, mountains, pool. It's seen so many environments. Are there some micro scratches, sure. Same with my watch. Are there any "scratches" I can see, feel or touch? Nope. Under normal light, day to day use, I see nothing. :D

Do whatever works for you.

I always use a tempered glass protector - doesn't affect screen clarity and is worth the low cost for the peace-of-mind of never being concerned about the surface I'm setting the phone down on when I set it screen-down. I also usually end up with a screen protector at least cracked if not chipped every couple years.

amFilm brand has been reliably good in my experience

I envy you because the micro scratches drive me crazy. It’s not rational.

Kind of like a new car: I go to great lengths to avoid a dent, but once I get the first one all is lost and I suddenly only care about keeping the interior pristine.

Every phone, all the time. I crack the screen protector once every 18-24 months. I switched from anti-glare to tempered glass after the OLED screens came out.

I get it but on the other hand, life is so short and the things we humans have during our time here are nothing but trinkets. I've had so many phones, cars, things. I keep things nice but stuff like phones, watches, stuff happens. I don't care, it's not the end of the world and I can always get another. I never understood keeping stuff like that "pristine". Such a heavily used device. A TV on the other hand sure. A car? Good luck! :p

You should see my car :) - 06 Crown Vic. A tree fell on it during a hurricane, dented the roof. Hasn't been washed in years. Still driving it to this day. Paid off. Yeah I've had the trans rebuilt, lots of stuff replaced, got HID headlights (the real deal, not that aftermarket crap). Stereo, AC, heat all work. A trunk fit for a king! What more do I need?

Why are you putting sand in your pockets? Doesn’t seem like the best place to keep your sand.
