I use one, but the feel of the glass without one is much better, so I understand those that don't want one.

Glass feels like glass to me, I personally don’t see or feel a difference.

Started with iPhone 4s. Never used a screen protector through iPhone 12. Never "babied" any iPhone model. And never, ever had any screen or scratch issue. And I regularly clean the iPhone screen with paper toweles and glass cleaner.

iPhone glass is robust. You simply do NOT need a screen protector. Also, you are wasting your money by purchasing them. You'll never recoup the cost of screen protectors with your perceived increase in trade-in value, which is nonexistent.

I say again, you do not need a screen protector. Waste of time, waste of money.
Your advice may be relevant to you but not to everybody else. The screen protector on my iPhone 12 has quite a few scratches on it and a deep gouge. That sort of proves your point as being false in my case and the protector cost just £3.50 from Amazon by Spigen. Hardly a waste of money.

The thing about screen protectors, is they scratch. The screen doesn’t. So you’re using a phone with scratches all over it anyway. People just like the peace of mind knowing it’s only the protector that’s scratched and not the screen, so they subconsciously don’t mind seeing scratches on their phone for this reason.

Always use one just dropped my S21 on the ground screen was shattered but only the screen protector was damaged.
Saves a trip to get device repaired and the deductible you pay with insurance.

Which one is good?
I think the Apple installed Belkin ones are the best. Usually end up replaced the Belkin once a year, which is covered by Belkin and then installed by Apple again.

You’ve been able to discern a difference in feel between the glass of the bare screen and the glass of a decent tempered glass screen protector?

That. Is. Impressive.
I feel that the tempered glass screen protector has a smoother feel than the original, and once the oleo phobic coating wears out in time or scratches ouccur, I can just easily replace it with a new one. And obviously with the original screen, you can’t have that flexibility.

The screen does scratch as many here will admit. My screen protector seems to have a harder finish than the screen underneath and is only scratched in my case because my iPhone gets chucked around and I don’t baby it, it’s a tool for me. It’s nice to get maximum money when selling it after 2 years though.

To me, there is a big difference in feel. I prefer the original feel of the glass without a screen protector. That said, I always get a screen protector because I dislike scratches more.

iPhones are beautiful devices, so I prefer to use them without any screen cover or case. Yes, they scratch, but the feeling of the real device compensates for it.

I tired a few time in the past and gave up. I even had it "professionally" installed at a mall kiosk. I never liked how they felt or looked on my iphones. I had no issues trading in my 11 PM, Ipad Pro 11" and 12 PM.

Got my 13Pro today and installed the Spigen glass. I love it! the installation was super easy. I really like their tray setup.

I use one because I work in underground construction and constantly have sand in my pockets. There’s just no way of keeping it out. So it prevents the inevitable scratches on my screen. If I didn’t work where I do, I probably wouldn’t use one.

Amazingly easy. And thanks to those who said to apply it to the phone right out of the box.

Put my Spigen glass protector on today the moment I opened the box and before I touched the screen. Used hot shower to create steam to remove dust from the air. 0 dust/flaws under the protector and no regrets, looks perfect.

Always have one, I have to put it on tomorrow. (way too tired now)

I've had deep scratches on screen protectors on past phones, without that my actual screen I think would have taken a major hit.

My screen protector came today. Phone came yesterday so didn’t take it outside lol.

Fitted it with a spiggen (or w/e) and it was so easy to do. Screen protector application has come a long way.

when I was using a folio case I didn't.. after that for peace of mind is best to have one

I see a few posting about Zagg, so i'm going to post what I put in the other thread....

Honestly i'd stay away from Zaggs InvisibleSHIELD. The price is high and the quality has gone down hill. The warranty replacement price has jumped to $7.99 for shipping (it used to be free, then $3, then $5) and most recently, they are denying warranties more and more. I am actually blocked from ever claiming warranty with them again because they claim I had too many warranty claims. (each shield tended to peel after about 3-4 months)

I've been using Spigen Products as well as the arae brand from Amazon and they work the same and are much cheaper to replace.
But Spigen have only a 2 year warranty (which may not mean much if you upgrade every year)

Just an heads up, I applied the Belkin exclusive 20$ screen protector from the Apple Store, but it's matte. I didn't read well enough the description before buying. It's very thin though. And matte. Very matte.

I'm usually very careful with my electronics, so I feel like I could've probably mostly been fine without one, but I tend to be too paranoid to omit it. So my 13 Pro got its screen protector applied as soon as I took Apple's paper protector off. Spending 30€ on Belkin's screen protector in the Apple Store felt a bit like a rip-off, but the application tray that they provide made putting it on perfectly super easy, so I'm happy with it.

Overall, I just like the peace of mind of using a case and a screen protector. It keeps your screen pristine and if you ever get scratches, you can simply swap the screen protector without having to spend an obscene amount for insurance or an out of pocket display replacement.

I don't like using scratched things, love me some case and screen protector. Also enhances tremendously the resale value. It's just nicer to use.
