So is it still the iPhone 11 and 2020SE with zero flicker? iPhone 10, 12, 13 are still trash right?
And for some 13 testers things have gotten even more worse than 12s. Apple keeps saving my wallet for 3rd year in a row.

I get headaches behind my eyes that turn into dizziness and sometimes nausea when using the 13 pro and the 12 pro. Anybody have the same and find any solution? I tried changing every setting I could think of (limit frame rate, reduce motion, true tone, white point, brightness, etc.)

X is 100% fine.

This is so strange- it seems everyone's experience is so different. On paper, the 13's should be better than previous versions- and some people have confirmed that, saying the 13 or 13 pro are the first Apple OLED models they've been able to use without issue. But there are certainly others like yourself who find them to be worse.

I wish I knew what the deal was!

I have a 12 Mini that is easy on my eyes- I tested a 13 mini for a week and had some minor issues- watery, somewhat irritated eyes- but nothing major, and I think I would have adjusted to it if I used it long enough. I am tempted to try the 13 Pro as it is said to be easy on the eyes and on paper, in scientific testing by NotebookCheck, the flicker frequency should be high enough (nearly double what it was in previous years) that it would be fine for most people.

The issue may not actually be PWM. I have not been able to pinpoint the issue.

Even stranger: I had the same exact issue with the iPad pro 4th gen. I downgraded to the 3rd gen and no issues whatsoever. They are basically the same device. It's baffling.

Here is the best analysis of PWM on the 13 pro: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Apple...martphone-with-minor-weaknesses.572211.0.html

Unfortunately, the OLED panel suffers from PWM flickering (flickering frequency at 10% brightness and below: 240 Hz; at above 10% brightness: 446.4-510.2 Hz). However, Apple has integrated a DC dimming mode into the iPhone 13 Pro. All in all, the iPhone’s screen does quite a bit to ameliorate the OLED flickering.

So there is still PWM, but on paper it shouldn't be as bad. I still have some discomfort personally.

Sure wish they'd give us an accessibility option to force it on.

Hopefully OLED displays will be replaced with something better some day down the line.
I think Apple will start putting mini-LED in the iPhone Pro models first. The issue is being able to produce the mini-LED panels in the quantity that Apple needs.

Update: I have been able to pretty much move past my issues on the 13 pro. I'm mostly able to use the phone normally now, sometimes a very slight headache. I am not sure if my body just eventually adjusted to the screen, or other factors changed, or a combination. I'm not sure if the issue was truly PWM, or some other issue(s). I was definitely getting very uncomfortable burning behind eyes/migraine symptoms on the 13 pro initially, as well as on the 12 pro and 13. X was fine.

Over the last few weeks I tried gradually push my discomfort daily by using 13 Pro to just expose my body with the intent to hopefully create adjustment. When it went beyond mild discomfort, I backed off and went back to my old phone until I felt OK. I don't know if this was medically wise and I don't necessarily recommend it, but I tried it. I also made some other changes, such as cutting way back on caffeine and trying to reduce stress/anxiety.

Anyway, just wanted to share my update, as I would have liked to have seen such an update from others before when deciding how to proceed myself in this situation.
