When a technology company has no 'one more thing' moments left and are now just doing rehashes of older products, they try and distract with something shiny. Or yellow. Or purple.

Back in the day would Apple have made a big deal about a new colour in a product?
Gives a poor impression of the companies level of innovation.
Color represents another layer of potential expression in industrial design, a language Apple has seemingly been attempting to master for decades now. So yeah I’d probably say it tends to be pretty important.

Just here to see if anyone ‘upgraded’ their OG iPhone/+ 14 to yellow...& be jealous as hell of them.
😏

It's pretty sad when the big iPhone news is a new colour. I hope Apple does something interesting soon...

I personally hate yellow and don't see the appeal of the new iPhone color. What I find ridiculous though is that the Applestore went down just for the introduction of the new color.
This should just be a small press release, with immediate availability. Media should just mention that the iPhone now comes in yellow, and that's it. Instead, we get the whole Apple world reacting like crazy, for something that is definitely not worth it. It's a new color, not a new phone. It's ridiculous for all podcasters and Apple YouTubers, and of course for Apple journalists and bloggers. One sentence should have been enough!

But there wasn’t a big enough leap between 13 to 14 and this sounds like the bottom of the barrel selling point. Bit like Apples move away from desktops

Even though I don't care for yellow, it's nice that they're adding colors for those who want them.

I absolutely loved my red 11, then the dark green 13 came out and I couldn't resist. I especially liked how they offered both a dark and light green. I'll keep the 13 until they release another dark green iPhone.

What I'd really like to see is ALL colors available on release day, and a wider variety of colors and shades. I think a lot of people would upgrade more often if they were able to get exactly the color they wanted. For example, I'm unlikely to get a 15 unless they offer it in dark green. Apple would have to limit production of the more unique colors, but I think that would make them more desirable. Put me on the wait list!

Not sure how that would work with the secondary market and mark-ups, but I'd definitely be willing to wait a few months if the price was the same direct from Apple or a carrier.

Maybe I don’t get the hype, but there was already an iPhone 11 yellow, some years ago. Retro is in?

This is an all time low for me. Maybe it’s because I’m older now but I still consider a new Performa model 100x more exciting compared to this PR nonsense. And they were all beige.

Get with it apple. Fix the bugs! Get us better cameras! Stop hoping people buy the new phone because it’s new. Make something better.
