Just curious if anyone else has noticed horrendous battery life on the iPhone 14 Pro after updating to 16.1. I ran the iOS 16 beta all summer on my 13 Pro Max (so I'm used to betas ruining battery life), and once I got the 14 Pro, I installed the 16.1 beta and went through that whole cycle. The battery life was never near my 13 Pro Max, but I'd usually end the day with 20-30% left. Once the RC was released, I removed the beta profile to make sure I could install the public release. After I installed it Monday...woof.

For context, on Tuesday, I ended the day with 4%. Yesterday, I was down to 30% around 1pm. Today, I've only been up for about 3 hours and I'm down to 67%. I work from home so I don't leave the house, and I mostly use iPads so my iPhone usage is pretty light.

Yesterday, it looked like the main culprit was Exposure Notifications. I turned that off but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Anyways, super long post just to see if anyone else is experiencing this. Hoping for a 16.1.1 update soon to address it.

I have an almost brand new 14 PM. Battery life is very fickle with it. One minute it is fully charged and the next almost empty. Sometimes it will go back to 70-80% without even plugging it in. Other times it has to be fully charged. Took it to apple today due to black screen of death for the umpteenth time. They reset the phone and sent me on my way. Their only response about the battery was that it showed healthy and you can’t always believe the battery percentage that the phone shows. I found this rather frustrating as it has generally been fairly reliable on every other iPhone I have owned. There is definitely something fishy going on with the software and I get the feeling they know it but are choosing to hide/ignore for now. Worker was very adamant it was the best battery and software.

I feel like I've noticed this too on my 14 pro. I'm on 3 hours active screen time and battery is down to 40% on 16.1.

I have not experience that issue at all with my 14 Pro. Today I used it for around 5-6 hours on and off and was at 59% it has been normal as far as I can see. Drove home 80 miles and plugged into CarPlay in my car and it was at 97% since I got home. I am now running iOS 16.1.

This is obviously not screen on time.

14 Pro Max and battery life is outstanding which I would expect with a new phone. So far the ios updates since I first got the phone have really had no effect on the battery, no negative effect anyway.

14 pro battery life is worse on 16.1 compared to 16.0.3. I even restored it couple of times and not seeing any improvement. I have even turned off background app refresh. There is definitely some runaway process or memory issue with 16.1.

I’ve noticed it too, but on my iPhone XS. My charging has became way slower too and now I can’t charge my phone from my computer at night any more

14 PM and battery has been phenomenal. Which I would expect being a new phone. When not using it the battery stays at 100% for hours off the charger.

Wife and I both having major issues with battery drain on 16.1 with our 14 PMs. Phone won’t even last all day now. Drains almost twice as fast. Appears to be safari on my phone.

My 14PM has been off the charger for 3 ½ hours now. I did check emails, overnight notifications, Safari, my banking app, a few other things but I’ve been using my iPad since. Just checked the phone and it’s still on 100%. 16.1 has killer battery life, but again with a new phone I wouldn’t expect anything different.

Battery on the 14 Pro (regular sized) is not good regardless of iOS version. At least from my experience. I'm on 16.1 and my battery life sucks.

Drained from 100% to 33% after 4 hours of phone in the pocket. Cool.

Also seeing bad battery life after 16.1. I usually ended my day with 40% and now I'm getting 20-25%.
Find My is using around 6% each day and also draining battery overnight.
