Just thought I’d create a thread so everyone can post how the battery of their 14 Pro Max is performing.

It’ll probably take a week or so for all the background activity to settle down after restoring from a backup.

Please share:
- Battery usage % for “Last 2 days”
- Screen active time
- Screen idle time
- Other specific details eg. AOD, background refresh, 4G/5G time etc

Here’s mine (almost 2 days since launch).

Day 1
Battery usage = 75%
Screen active = 7 hr 45 mins
Screen idle = 1 hr 33 mins

Day 2 (til 6pm now)
Battery usage = 55%
Screen active = 4 hr 46 mins
Screen idle = 2 hr 50 mins

AOD ON
Background refresh OFF
4G for 2 hours approx for each day.
Wifi the rest of the time.

Just got my 14 PM and have not looked closely at the battery use but am fully expecting it to be about like my 13 PM.

Screen idle = 2 hr 4 mins

AOD OFF
Background refresh OFF
4G for 2 hours approx for each day.
Wifi the rest of the time.

AOD off seems to have improved battery life.

I still have 30 min of background activity on the photos app. Even though I have background refresh off. Are the photos still syncing or indexing?

So far, my first full day with my 14pm the battery life is AWFUL. 4.5 hours of SOT with only 29% remaining. Usually could get 9.5-11 hours of SOT on my 13PM. I hope this is just because it’s new.

A mix of 5G and Wi-Fi. Played music that was downloaded, no streaming. But, I still got amazing battery life on my 13PM even if I was on 5G all day. Would see anywhere from 8-9+ hours if total SOT.

Let’s hope it’ll improve in a week or something. It’s definitely not lasting as long as the 13PM when I first got it last year.

I hope so too. I never ever complain about battery but it’s been awful so far.

I’m attributing it to AOD and being ‘new’. I’ll give it a few days to update, index or whatever then see if I need to shut off AOD.

Battery was atrocious on my 14 PM the first two days, third day has seen a significant improvement, I’d say it’s as good or better than my 13 PM.

Check your cellular settings they have 5g set to being aggressive with data use.

This is exactly my experience. I do admit I’ve been playing with it more than I would’ve with the old 13 PM. It should settle down hopefully after a week.

I purposefully have avoided charging mine during the day today at all (I usually plug in in the car, cause my 12 Pro Max wouldn’t last me past 5/6pm if I didn’t). It’s better today than it was the past 2 days for sure. The work week will be interesting to see

Dumb question, but I think I know the answer, but confirming…
The “screen active” and “screen idle” times are for the 24 hour period shown…
Not for the time since it was last charged, right?

It would be nice if that reset every time you charged it.

Yes for the tab “last 24 hours”

For the tab “last X days” it’s an average over 7 days. If you click on the bar for a particular day, it gives you stats for that day.

Based on my 13pm experiences with similar usage on a Saturday or Sunday without using a car or my desk charger, it’s definitely worse thus far. Hopefully it gets better.

Looks OK to me.

Easier to compare if you go to the "Last 3 days" tab and tap on a particular day for the usage on a single day.
