I’m on chat with them and the Apple support guy told me “we have a very imaginative community, please don’t believe the reports” after I said this seems to be a widespread issue lmao
Oh so they’re making out that people are making it up. It’s all over Reddit and Twitter and 9to5mac! 😂

Yeah. I think he got tired now of trying to fix it. He’s transferring me to sales department and he told me to ask for a replacement or a refund If I want one

How long will it take for them to replace it though? I don’t want to be without a Phone

I succumbed. New phone arrives Wednesday from my network. That’s for camera app issue.

She said officially 3-5 weeks and that’s what it says on my email. However you get 2 emails, one saying your new phone is ordered, and another saying to return your phone. The email that said your phone is ordered is a standard email as if you were to go on to the Apple Store and order a phone now. However he’s said that replacements take priority over orders so she said it won’t take 4-5 weeks it should be much sooner. Luckily I hadn’t sent off my 11 pro yet so can use that for time being but the I arranged the return today and UPS collect the return the next day, then when they receive the return the replacement is initiated. Still, was given no estimate was given which is slightly concerning, but if I don’t get my phone within a week I’m going to ring up and complain about it as I personally don’t think it’s right. Surely they have replacements on standby for if issues were to happen. You would hope so anyway.

Honestly, I’m going to wait for a firmware update to fix the issue. So far I only have lag in the iOS camera app. I tried the other apps and no issues using the camera. I don’t have any shaking/rattling or static noise. Other then the camera app being slow, the phone works great.

Lucky you 😭😭

I only have the lagging in the stock camera app. No shaking or rattling yet.
Other apps are okay apart from BeReal where it just comes up black.
Hoping software up comes soon and it will fix it

Damn. So we are supposed to go without a Phone for I don’t know how many weeks? Really?

Trust me it won’t be weeks as I’ll be on the phone to them again and demand they sort it. It’s really not on they should keep spares for cases like this. Terrible move by them

As everyone is still within the 14 days of purchase, everyone with an issue can still return and order a new iPhone, my concern would be how long this would take from Apple with the current wait time for a new 14 Pro being end of October according to the online store. I’m going to wait as my only issue (currently) is camera lag.

It's a good idea to wait until the new year to buy a new model iPhone. Not only will kinks have (silently) been worked out, but you'll have a cooling off period to decide whether you really need or want a new phone.

At the least, wait until late November or December, when Apple typically extends the return period so that you can have a longer evaluation time.

Apparently replacements are fast tracked, that’s what the tech on the phone told me

Also when camera is on I can hear that static noise if I put my ear close to the lenses - almost like mini fan running in there ;)
I also now notice the static noise after you pointed it out!

I'm about to open my 14 Pro Max and was reading through this thread. But I wanted to mention, now that you both pointed it out, my 13 Pro Max has a static noise when the camera app is opened (with my ear close to the phone). I've never had any issues with the 13 Pro Max so maybe this noise has been occurring longer than just this new phone's iteration?! Just thought I'd mention it... now here's to hoping my new 14 Pro Max doesn't have this camera lagging issue haha!

To all the people with the static noises. I have this issue too. But do you consider it is normal thing? My camera isn't shaking and vibrating, but those static noises are hearable on the live photos and videos when i put volume higher!
