This video is fake, they never rerun the tests and they use old data from their previous videos and who knows how they do it, they never show the full test.
They even kept the same numbers for the iPhone 13 Pro Max when they compared it to the 14 PM this year (and all the other numbers from other phones)

The numbers are the same, so it's just a theatre play to make you believe they did rerun it. And if they lied with this, they can lie with other things too.

Conclusion: we have no idea how's battery life, in a scientific way.

I don't think these tests reflect real world usage. Yes, in side to side comparisons while the phones are running all day with the screen on, the iPhone 14 pro max will win out. But in everyday use, at least for me, the 13 pro max would give me better battery life. I feel the always on display really does impact battery life on the 14 pro models more than these tests will show. My 13 pro max would have about 30 percent battery left by 10pm where as my 14 pro max has about 15% battery and needs to be recharged by 9 PM. I am running 16.0.3. Not sure if any future updates will improve this.

I get nowhere near 11 hrs on my 14 PM at typical usage.

On iOS 16.0.3, I get around 4 to 4.5 hours for 50% battery.

Mostly on wifi and just surfing safari and watching maybe 45 mins of YouTube and another 45 mins of Apple Music.
You must have a lot of notifications.

Current tally...14 Pro Max has best processor, best screen, best battery, best camera, best purple colour,...are the speakers and call quality the best 🤩
Most reviews from outlets like CNET and Digital Trends have the camera as a toss-up, while DxOMark scored the Pixel's camera higher. The Pro Max is also $200 more. Both are great phones, no need to shill for either of them.

I got similar results on my iPhone 14 Pro in my test, although I didn't do a continuous browsing test. I just used it normally and recorded my results:
I’ll definitely keep AOD off for that stellar battery life if I get the iPhone 14 Pro. This reminds me of the battery situation with my 12 Pro when I turned off 5G, but the battery gain here is even better with AOD off on the 14 Pro.

I’m glad the 14 Pro did well. I was a little concerned about getting another iPhone with worse battery life than the previous iPhone (my iPhone 12 Pro), but it looks good with the 14 Pro and even better with AOD off.

But the Google Pixel 7 Pro Display is 516 ppi compared the iPhone 14 Pro Max with inferior 460 ppi.
After a day of use I can tell is much more pleasant for me to use the Pixel 7 Pro compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max I also own.

I wish i could set the screen brightness to near 0. I’m in my bed right now, in the darkness, and the lowest brightness it can go is still too bright.
There's a workaround I use for that. When lowest brightness setting is still too bright in a dark room then go into Settings-->Accessibility-->Display & Text Size and enable Reduce White Point. Adjust the slider left and it has the effect of dimming the screen further. Try it out and hope it helps.

Yes...AOD is badly implemented right now, but I am sure that by next year's iOS 17 release, the AOD issue will be fixed...

It's insane that the Apple engineers didn't learn from the decade-long implementation of the feature on Android and copy that and implement it correctly the first time, but with time, Apple, I am sure, will fix it...

100% brightness to compare phones is not scientifically correct - they should mesure and align the nits of brightness, 100% on a phone can be much brighter than 100% on another phone, so please align the nits.

I use this for reading at night.

You can even set an accessibility shortcut to enable it with three taps of the power button. Same to disable.

iPhone 14 Pro Max top notch

Remember how battery tests are done in a lab and how you use the iPhone in real life are going to have less battery hours than what’s posted

Apple may be good at its job but... Android is just not made for performance, it's free and made for compatibility.
That's what allows you to buy a $150 new android phone that works almost acceptably while the cheapest iPhone cost three times as much.
But performance Android phones will always be one or two steps behind Apple.

Quite surprised by the battery life of the S22 Ultra in these tests. I specifically got that phone for the missus so that she could have a phone with a massive battery to last as long as possible.

I never quite understand why people who don’t like Apple products hang around on an Apple related website. 🤪
I love my MacBooks and finally joined this forum recently after getting my first iPad this year, and after switching from Android to an iPhone. Last month I switched back to a Z Fold 4.

Some of us aren't all-in with the Apple ecosystem but have a combination of devices and are part of multiple forums. I don't give blind allegiance to any particular brand or phone maker. I like to keep up with all tech and will select the device that best meets my needs, Apple or not.

The latest iPhones have phenomenal battery life. Just truth. But I also agree with Spaceboi pointing out Android multiwindow/multitasking kills what's available on iOS/iPadOS, even with Stage Manager, and this is since five years ago with the Note 8 and Samsung DeX. Also truth. Neither phone OS is best at everything. It is a matter of your priorities and whether iOS or Android meets your needs better.
