why would you want 8K video when there aren't many TVs, Monitors, or even iPhones displays that would be able to view the content in all its glory? 8K would be a gimmick move that Samsung has pulled and it's still not a nice selling point.

supposedly according to google tons more information still even though the 4k/8k get scaled down .. supposedly.. lol.. I made a comment about this on iJustines youtube video where she says she filmed in 4k and i said something along the lines of “congrats, i’m viewing on 1080p, what’s the point in bragging about 4k and 8k when nobody owns the correct TV/Monitor” 🤷‍♂️

Magsafe cases extend the magnetic functionality with it’s own magnets. So it can be as strong or even stronger than the pure iphone or an iphone with a normal case.

Yep

All the marketing gets you hyped for a new iPhone but the novelty is short lived. I have been using the iPhone 14 Pro all day and it was exiting for a couple of hours. Now, the phone feels like … just like my previous iPhone 11. Time to send the phone back and get a refund, lol!

Went from a 10/21-10/28 delivery date to pickup in store on 10/18 to picked up during my lunch break today. It's all about the thrill of the hunt!

Four hours after picking up the phone I just now had my phone number transfer go through but have been enjoying the phone on Wi-Fi since the initial setup transfer completed. I can't believe I didn't go Max earlier; I was expecting it to feel so much more cumbersome.

I am finding the 6.1 pro to be way heavier than my 12Pro. Curious to know your experience with weight.

Why not? The iPhone 14 series is a minor incremental upgrade over the 13 series. Its APU is only 4% faster and other than the camera update, there’s very little difference. Dynamic Island is a gimmick.

Whatever floats your boat, I’m digging the upgrade from the 12Pro. I strongly dislike the size of the cameras and the weight.

This has been the case now. I've always kept my phones at least two years, sometimes three. The upgrade experience is a lot more enjoyable when you're coming from a much older phone!

I did not use to believe this philosophy because of the love for instant gratification. However the upgrade feels significant coming from the 12Pro, a big part of it is the 120hz which was introduced last year. Would feel much more minor compared to jumping from the 12P

That's where the magnets are under. I think they just cover the magnets with the white markings so we don't see them.

Also helps to distinguish the case and let people know the case is magsafe.

Another year another iPhone launch!

I rocked up at 8am this morning and picked up my iPhone 14 Pro Max deep purple at the Apple Store in Sydney Australia. There was a long queue and big crowd and I had to wait 20 mins in line and another 10 in store

First impressions:

• the deep purple is sexy AF. It appears grey in some lighting but turns purple under indoors and under sunlight. It’s more purple than shown in photos and reviews
• The stainless steel band and camera model shimmer under the light and you can definitely tell it’s purple
• The phone feels the same weight in the hands as 13 PM
• The screen / display looks warmer / more yellow than the 13 PM display
• Pill cut out sits lower than the notch and is noticeable when you look at the screen / watch videos. Will take some getting used to
• Dynamic island - WOW was my first reaction. Animation is smooth and the bouncy pill cut out when you interact with it is a nice touch. Lots of first party usage already and can’t wait for live scores, Uber tracking and other third party apps to make use of it. Face ID appearing in the island and other status and running apps showing in the island are very well executed
• The ability to tap the top of the notch to go back to the top of the page requires a more precise tap directly above the camera when the island is occupied by an app eg Apple Music.
• AOD - not as bright as the reviewers say. Do wish we could change the wallpaper for the AOD, brightness and other settings. Maybe we’ll get it in an iOS update.

I also have the space black for my partner and it is definitely a much darker shade of black than space grey and graphite. A blend between graphite and matte black from the iPhone 7 days. But not as black as that on the space black stainless steel apple watch.

Ink Leather is not in there. It’s Forest Green Leather, Elderberry Silicone…then Midnight and Umber Leathers.

Just received my iPhone 14 pro max! Coming from an iPhone 13 Pro Max, can’t believe the speed improvement. Apps open much faster, everything feels so much more fluid! Dynamic island is cute lol… it adds a nice touch to the background, honestly I don’t mind it at all. As someone who’s upgraded every year from iPhone 1 it’s hard to get excited about the new release every year, shiny new toy yes but my favorite part is the island 🏝️ 🫶🏻 much love apple.

I have to say, the quality control is first rate this year.

There are no reported screen, glass edge, dents out of boxes issues etc. yet.

This is the first time that I’ve have not had to try and source a replacement device.

Completely agreed. Both my 12PM and 13PM had dings on the stainless frame out of the box.

Seems my iPhone 14 PM is going back.
The reddish hue I noted when the screen was on AOD mode is prevalent even in normal use. Check this:

Keys appear almost orange on the left, are an OK white in the middle and again orangish on the right .

Compared pictures from gallery side by side between 13PM and 14PM and 14PM shows reddish/orange hue on any picture with lighter background.

Just a note for other users here to check their displays too.

Yup that’s the new earpiece slit. I like that apple has streamlined the front of the device so it continues to look more and more like one uninterrupted sheet of glass

It seems like this plagues every phone release. My current phone is a Note 20 Ultra and it has tint inconsistencies. One would think that they would have fixed this kind of thing by now. It’s definitely not just Apple devices.

I have the space black and purple phones here, side-by-side, and I just need to say that those of you saying that deep purple is mostly gray are insane. Or colorblind or something 😂.

It is purple through and through. The side bands are even a relatively light hue of purple, bordering on violet or pink.

For me, black is definitely the way to go this year. But if you like purple, you will be happy with the purple pro.

Black is amazing for sure. The ex bought the purple. It’s ok.

When I slightly tilted the s22 ultra the bottom half of the screen would be blue. Same area that was green tint in dark mode.

I have Beats Fit Pro earbuds. On the iPhone 14 Pro Max, does it disable the sound of the alarm clock and just vibrate? Is there a setting that I can look at? I use my phone as my alarm clock.
