I have to say, the quality control is first rate this year.

Any abnormalities in the photos are from screen protector or camera

initial impressions are the display is beautiful and crisp! and no weird color gradient on grey in dark mode like we saw on many iPhone 13 pros.

That camera looks kinda ridiculous. It looks like it was slapped on with some super glue as an afterthought. 😉

I love that purple!!

How is it any different from the 13? Nothing new here in terms of the camera setup.

The dynamic island is so much bigger than I was expecting. It seems taller than my old notch was not including how low it is on the screen. Like, even if it was butt all the way to the top of the screen it seems like it might steal more screen real estate and giving a couple millimeters of display above it means the bottom of the notch-like-island-area is much much lower than I was ready for.

The purple and black look very nice — actually, all colors this year look nice and refined — difficult to choose!

Definitely want Black or Purple, but different pics look different shades. I definitely need to go in person before Friday

I haven’t scrutinized hard , it went into a case quick but nah seems good

I would see frame gouges too from the revealed edges looking straight on and nothing

My 12 pro has a small gap in bottom right between screen and side frame this one not at all. Nice.

AOD is growing on me as I really appreciate a quick glance whilst doing something if I’m expecting a message (eg mid WhatsApp conversation)
It is a bit bright though!

The camera looks bigger and thicker. I don’t know if it looks that way IRL, but it definitely does in pictures.

All the marketing gets you hyped for a new iPhone but the novelty is short lived. I have been using the iPhone 14 Pro all day and it was exiting for a couple of hours. Now, the phone feels like … just like my previous iPhone 11. Time to send the phone back and get a refund, lol!

Does anybody have both a 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max? With the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max I felt like the weight distribution was more balanced on the Pro Max. Is it the same with the 14?

Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t switch to a pro max earlier. The screen is really the best thing !

I feel like a weirdo. I have sierra blue as well as some of the previous colorful Pro phones and loved them all. I just received the deep purple after all the positive feedback and it’s really not jiving with me at all. I thought I’d just live with it but it’s ts way too eggplant for my liking.

I’ll be swapping it out for a silver phone instead.

how is screen uniformity and tint? issues like the 13 pro's last year showing weird tint in the greys of settings in dark mode?

Colours are solid this ear but for me personally not as exciting as the Sierra Blue from last year.
Nevertheless I will wait for an USB C iPhone - hopefully in 2023.
totally happy with my 13 Pro (Sierra Blue).

I'm keeping same and sending deep purple 14P back.

not for everybody but loving the always on display. got to be my favourite thing about the 14 pro max.

Uniformity is excellent on mine. Also, no more gradient shifts in dark mode when you look in the settings.
Whites are still a bit warm but if you crank up the brightness it performs better than previous models (probably due to the increased brightness)
