Same here. I didnt think of it, but it is really great and the phone feels different with it.
+ 120hz promotion really does make a difference. I think the normal Iphone14 really is lacking these two features setting the pro model apart further than last year.

The reddish hue I noted when the screen was on AOD mode is prevalent even in normal use. Check this:

Keys appear almost orange on the left, are an OK white in the middle and again orangish on the right .
Compared pictures from gallery side by side between 13PM and 14PM and 14PM shows reddish/orange hue on any picture with lighter background.
Just a note for other users here to check their displays too.
Went from a 10/21-10/28 delivery date to pickup in store on 10/18 to picked up during my lunch break today. It's all about the thrill of the hunt!
Four hours after picking up the phone I just now had my phone number transfer go through but have been enjoying the phone on Wi-Fi since the initial setup transfer completed. I can't believe I didn't go Max earlier; I was expecting it to feel so much more cumbersome.

Great upgrade from my 12 PM. The Dynamic Island is very cool in person. Hopefully more apps take advantage of it.
It feels a bit wider than my 12 PM but still feels great in hand. The screen is great.
Always on Display is cool. I’m gonna ride with it for a while.

Only had my iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB in Space Black since 1030am CST this morning. Transition from from my iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in Graphite has been almost see less as was the eSIM process. Data and apps ported over very quickly. Bluetooth connection to my car also smooth. Logged into apps where necessary.
I don’t know what technology Apple iPhones possess that other phones of this calibre don’t. The S23 has one extra camera that the iPhone doesn’t and it doesn’t have a big blob on it. The appearance does make the iPhone unique. I can see that camera from a great distance and know it is an iPhone. Are the cameras on the iPhone so radically different from other phones?
It looks like a Borg appendage. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
I think that Samsung has a patented periscope lens that allows them to keep their cameras smaller, but I could be mistaken.
That’s a screen uniformity deformation. Had it in my launch unit last year for the Max; sorry to hear that’s happening to you.
Had a Note with AOD, so I've had it before.
With my 14 Pro Max I'm having to get used to it, because a couple of times I looked at it and thought. Why isn't it turning off.
I'm also liking Dynamic Island. It looks cleaner than the notch to me. It's also been made useful.

Not the Max, but the brightness is so impressive outdoors. Game changer
Yeah using it with google maps on my dashboard today 14PM was significantly brighter than my 12P even pretty clearly visible with sunglasses on
Different strokes, I guess. The "eggplant" color purple is what I LOVE about it.
I thought the iPhone 14 Pro Max came with iOS 16 installed. I still had to install a smaller update. The version number should have changed if it was a patch.
I’ve watched several videos where the letterboxing isn’t wide enough to hide the pill completely, and in those cases the pill looks like the notch. It’s actually not bad. I tried to screenshot this but Apple’s done something clever with how the pill appears (or doesn’t) in screenshots. If you strictly full screen the video, you see the pill completely.
Not all YouTube videos. I watched one filmed in cinematic mode on the iPhone 14 pro and the pill was visible, the letterboxing wasn’t wide enough to completely camouflage it. I watched several other videos on YT, what they were filmed with wasn’t specified, but the same phenomenon was present. I’d say half of the YT videos I’ve watched since I unboxed my 14pm have not fully hidden the pill. And I didn’t stretch them full screen, this was just in native landscape viewing mode.
You're right. I realized it when the notification popped up when the update was finished. Was the same patch pushed out to iPhone 13 and earlier?
