Awesome for those getting one. My iPhone 13PM has 50%+ at bedtime. Can get me a second day. The new one won’t give me a third day, but a few hours is cool if you’ve gone bush walking really far away.
There are so many variables to battery life from the way you use it, how much you use it, how you charge it, what apps you use, to what you have turned on or turned off on your phone, you just can’t reliably predict it. For me if it’s comparable to the 13 Pro Max, I’m good with that.
Marques was guessing in his video. He noted that the battery did go down faster and thought he should disable it to see. However, he was discussing the iPhone 14 pro, which Tom's guide tested as having over an hour and a half worse battery life compared to the 13 pro, so the noticeable drop was probably not primarily from the AOD
To those taking about AOD affecting the tests Tom's Guide and other sites do, they list their methods in their reviews. They test screen on time at 150 nits brightness on the phones. Since the screen is always on for the battery test, AOD is not a factor
I know this thread is old but one thing that heavily effect battery life is an iOS that isn’t very well optimized. Usually it take a couple updates to get the battery fine tuned.
