And if so, what are your main reasons for upgrading or not upgrading?

No, I have a work supplied 14PM and it's heavy (w/ belt clip, lens protector, screen privacy filter & case).

My work will get me a new iPhone when our government account rep says we are eligible.

As for my personal 14+ I will upgrade to 16 Pro (not the Max) for the AOD and SOS features.

Having to tote both phones being on my waist 5 days a week can take it's toll....

Absolutely. Sure there won’t be many new features but the 14 Pro Max is a flawed product with a defective battery problem. I cannot wait to get rid of it. Battery health is plummeting since launch day and it on 82% health for me after normal use. Apple continue to gaslight but I think there needs to be a recall.

Leaning towards yes

1) I’m starting to notice lightning is behind replaced by USBC in various places (restaurants and such). I could go all
USBC for travel.

2) I have a gold phone, and it appears I can get a similar color

3) I am interested in the size switch - I could go either way

4) Camera improvements seem meaningful over two years, AI could be interesting, etc

Nope, only got mine refurb this year and have no intention of upgrading it. Think I'll probably wait for a folding screen iPhone before I do upgrade again and even then I'll go refurb again.

I have honestly not heard of this yet. I personally have the iPhone 14 Pro Max and it's on 86% health at the moment (bought it at launch). The battery also seems much better than my previous XS Max.

I will not upgrade this time.....next year. My battery is 81 percent. I like my 14 Promax. People say battery life is bad, they read too much Reddit for facts.

If there isn’t a huge surprise at the presentation I won’t upgrade. With the current expectations, I don’t think a 16 would be different to me than a 14 in practice. I’d rather think about a new battery by the time the rumors of the 17 are complete.

I agree, will definitely wait for tomorrow's event before making a final decision. Though based on the rumors, I also do not think I will upgrade.

Yes. 14 pro. Normal use. 700 +/- cycles. Battery capacity down to 79 percent. AppleCare but no Apple stores within two-plus hours. Best lousy solution: trade in for new 16 pro, hopefully with improved battery dynamics.

I have to agree, though it seems my battery ultimately stabilised, I got a 14PM on launch day, it lost 10% of it's capacity within 9 months.

I will be upgrading and looking to the battery as one of the big upgrades for me. The bigger screen is also a really nice change, if it's noticeable in-hand

I have the 14 Pro, and I’ll probably skip the 16 series. The reason is that it’s still a rock-solid smartphone, everything runs fast and smoothly, and the cameras are great. The battery life isn’t as good.. after 1.5 years, it’s at 87%. However, I usually don’t upgrade on launch day. Every iPhone I’ve gotten in the past was about 5-6 months after launch. The 16 series seems to feature radical design and size changes, and the first batches could be more prone to defects. Plus, Apple’s AI is just at the beginning of its development, with some features launching next year. For me, the 17 series seems like a more compelling upgrade.

Don’t know what model I’ll get and price will be a factor but I’ll probably upgrade. The move to USB C will be easier as my iPad and AirPods use that, and I’ll probably want to be able to use the AI features as they come. Plus the 14 is already lacking the action button of the 15 so it already feels like a decent upgrade before any other announcements tomorrow.

My 14 has less money left on the finance than the device is worth so I can do Apple trade in pretty seamlessly.

I would actually like to get a smaller footprint phone but without losing the better quality camera and better battery than the regular model.

Yes, just because I try to every two years. Still get a great trade in and after two years my battery doesn't last a full day.

They only have stock of refurbished iPhones to sell when people sell them back to apple, so you have to wait till apple sells folding screen iPhones+ 1year.

14 PM user launch day, 97% battery health never used MagSafe and charge mostly 99% of the time to around 80-84% charge level via wired charging. I will be upgrading to the 16 PM, normally a yearly upgrader so this has been 12 months overdue for me.

But that's only if you buy from Apple. Plenty of other trustworthy places to buy refurbished phones from.

I'm at 87% and I bought mine about a month after launch or so..maybe a month and a half. Hopefully, the 16 Pro Max doesn't have defective batteries.
