Not budging. Waiting on the 17 “Air or “slim.” Seeing the capture button and the button press animations in iOS 18, lead me to believe the 17 “Air” will use these buttons all around, and have a much more hand friendly design. I am not buying into the mature market nonsense that people seem to fall back on. Microsoft and RIM did that. has really staggered designs and innovation in favour of profits. Make something new and exciting that flexes their muscles in both hardware and software, and then I will pony up the funds. I went from an X to a 14PM after years of the S cycle iPhones. Until it feels like a massive upgrade for my personal uses, I am staying tight fisted with my money. Everyone has different wants and needs, but for me, FOMO is easily killed with Tim’s these days, and their cringe marketing informercials like “Glowtime.” I don’t need them to reinvent the iPhone every cycle or two, I just want to see a company that makes the best products they can in hardware and software like they used to. Make something that they are proud to sell and use. Now it is all about margins and user experience be damned. It’s getting sickening to watch the same cast of characters spew nonsense and have little to show for it. The cost doesn’t have the same value anymore for me personally. We all know they can do better, and the 17 Air should have been old news by now and long in the tooth on the market already.
As an aside, anyone notice that one of the female presenters appeared to have her jeans on backwards? Is that a thing? The front pockets were shaped like rear pockets. Maybe she does that to carry a pro max in her rear pocket more comfortably. Must have lunch everyday with the people responsible for macOS System Settings.
