Not shown in any of these rumors was the green color, interesting Apple got that out under everyone's nose....they definitely seem to be getting better at locking things down a good bit.

I think it's just a revival from the iPhone 12 green which I've had since 2020. I'm going for the Natural titanium Pro this time, that 120mm camera is gonna be great for the zoo.

Last year not a single leak mentioned the Dynamic Island. Since then, I’ve stopped believing them as nobody really knows anything.
Leaks are usually around hardware because they come from supply chain partner sources, less so around software. There were plenty of leaks accurately indicating the iPhone 14 was to have a pill-shaped cutout instead of a notch, the surprise was that Apple would use software trickery to gussy it up.

Ahead of the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, rumors from leakers like Majin Bu and Kosutami suggested that the new iPhones would be sold with color-matched braided USB-C to USB-C cables, but that didn't happen.

The cable that comes with the new iPhone 15

Apple did update the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro with a USB-C port, but they are sold with standard, plain white braided USB-C to USB-C cables.

Images of the supposed "color-matched" cables were in the soft pastel colors that the iPhones were rumored to come in, but looking back, the colors were slightly off. Leaks also suggested that the cables could be 50 percent longer at 1.5m in length, but that was also incorrect.

The rumored color-matched cables that turned out to be fake

All of the iPhone 15 models are sold with a USB-C to USB-C cable that is one meter in length, but the cables are indeed braided for additional durability. Apple is selling no braided USB-C to USB-C cables in colors that match the iPhones, though there is a 1-meter black Thunderbolt 4 cable that enables USB 3.1 transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Thats what happens with rumours that sneaky Tim Cook planted to wrong-foot the rumour mongers

Fortunately the USB-C cable market is full of high quality braided cables in all kinds of different colorways and lengths for a much lower price. The main upside to switching to the bit more fragile, bit larger USB-C connection is we are no longer stuck with Apple's proprietary licensing. And no, USB 3.0 doesn't count, Apple did that on some older iPad that I had with a USB 3.0 SD card reader. Lightning could do it, they just didn't implement it on the iPhone.

My guess is that the rumored color matched braided USB-C cables we saw are actually for the new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpads that will ship with the M3 iMac.

There was similar confusion before the iPhone 12 announcement when the original braided USB-C to Lightning cables leaked. We thought those would ship with the iPhone 12, but they didn’t come out until many months later.

This is the kind of feature Steve Jobs would have insisted on but Tim Cook/Jeff Williams opted for the $0.70/cable savings. Definitely. Supply chain boys would never go for this on a high volume product like iPhone. iMac, sure, whatever, people pay through the nose.
Totally. I really miss the colorful 30-pin cables that Steve Jobs included with the iPod Minis and Nanos.

Oh wait.

Maybe for the M3 iMac's and MBA's, maybe?
I wouldn’t shed a tear if not though.

Cables, who cares, as long it's the right cable. 😂

Apple deliberately engineering up a fake, or 3rd party conjuring it up (with no obvious gain) is too conspiratorial.
The “gain” in this case would be to find a leaker. Make them available to several groups of folks they suspect a leaker to be within and, once the info is out, do the needful.

It’s easy to say “I knew it“ after the fact… But I had a sneaky suspicion, because it didn’t look very fluid or “apple“. However, this brought me back to the days where everyone said there’s no way that iPhone 4 leaks were real because they were very “un-apple“ as well… So I kept an open mind. But they didn’t look good With the white plastic and the color braided cable.

Nor do they come in white for the first time since iPhone 4! What’s up with Apple, dropping one of their signature colours? 🤷🏻‍♂️
