iOS should just intelligently rotate media without a rotation lock, or at least show an option to force rotate media when it detects that you've rotated the device. There’s no way rotation lock won’t be an option. CMONNNN

The action button wouldn’t (primarily) be for the shutter, but for opening the camera app.Volume up takes a photo so why have camera shutter
You first need to create a Shortcut for making you breakfast. Then configure the Action button to invoke that shortcut.I wish the iPhone Action button could make me breakfast. If it just starts an application then I'll probably not bother setting it up.
What? iOS already does this, but there’s times it gets it wrong like laying sideways in bed. There used to be an option to use the mute switch as rotation lock on iPad, which I was VERY sad to see removed but would be so happy if it came back in the form of the action button, especially on iPhone.iOS should just intelligently rotate media without a rotation lock, or at least show an option to force rotate media when it detects that you've rotated the device.
I use it occasionally for a flashlight. I’d use the Action Button on the iPhone for effectively the silent/mute switch.I don't really use the Action Button on my Apple Watch Ultra. Do you?
I'm going to miss the classic Mute Switch which only had one job to do! Some things are great being left alone. Furthermore, less is more.

Rotation lock is for when you’re lying on the side using your phone. If anything, iOS should detect the orientation of your eyes using Face ID. Now that would be an innovative feature. Hey Apple!iOS should just intelligently rotate media without a rotation lock, or at least show an option to force rotate media when it detects that you've rotated the device.
I wish I could customize those icons. I inadvertently turn my flashlight on more than I care to.I'd probably use it for camera. Does that mean the two lockscreen buttons for flash/camera will be configurable now?
I agree ! I think the mute switch was one of those iconic things that have existed since the first iPhone. The Action Button seems nice to have for those who like it, but I personally prefer the classic mute switch, and it’d be sad to see it removed.I don't really use the Action Button on my Apple Watch Ultra. Do you?

What do you use it for, genuinely curious? Seeing things at a distance or what?
Yes, I only used that button once per phone before this to turn on mute.I’d leave it on silent mode. Just me.
Not when 90% of the time you didn't mean to turn that flashlight on. 😀Can you remove the camera and flashlight button on the lockscreen then? We really don’t need 100 ways to open them
I assumed that was fast access to a voice translation function that you might use while traveling.Hopefully the Translate option will provide fast access to translate the screen (as the button at the bottom of the screenshot interface does). Lifesaver for those of us that have to use apps in another language on a regular basis.
I thought that you would configure the button for one of those functions ahead of time. Pressing the button would execute that function. I don't see a need to click on the screen unless that function has multiple steps.I just don't get it.
What's the point of having an Action Button? After pressing the Action Button you still have to click on the screen and navigate which actions you want to assign. I don't think it will be instant as activating the mute switch and launching the camera app.
You can only use one action at a time. Cannot select multiple actions. This is how it looks in Apple Watch Ultra. Basically, you select an action and it shows up on Apple Watch Ultra. You cannot select multiple actions.I thought that you would configure the button for one of those functions ahead of time. Pressing the button would execute that function. I don't see a need to click on the screen unless that function has multiple steps.
Isn't that the way it works on the Ultra watch? (I don't have an Ultra)
Would LOVE that option! There’s no way rotation lock won’t be an option. CMONNNN
