With every iteration of the iPhone, Apple changes the available color options, often introducing a special color or set of colors that set new iPhones apart from the prior generation. With the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple introduced a dark purple, while the standard iPhone 14 was offered in a purple shade.

Apple's iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models will also come in unique colors, and 9to5Mac says that an unnamed source indicates Apple is working on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models in a dark red, which is close to a burgundy shade. The color hex code is #410D0D, described as a dark sienna.

The standard iPhone 15 models could be available in new dark pink and bright, light blue colors. The pink shade, color hex code #CE3C6C is a deeper pink described as "telemagenta." The blue, color hex code #4DB1E2, is described as "picton blue."

The dark red shade that Apple may have planned for the iPhone 15 Pro models would likely be accompanied by standard (PRODUCT)RED devices in a brighter shade, along with more traditional shades close to silver/gold and space gray. iPhone 15 models could have more color options, including colors akin to red, black, and white.

Apple's dark red color would presumably be offered for the titanium finish rumored for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Apple so far has released titanium Apple Watch models in a standard silver titanium color and a darker titanium color, but red anodization would be entirely new.

According to 9to5Mac's source, the information on the color options is "still early" and "could change" closer to the fall, so the colors shared could be off. As Apple plans devices well in advance of when they launch, design choices will likely be solidified in the near future. Apple is expected to begin the EVT (engineering validation test) phase of iPhone 15 production in March.

The long wait for an orange iPhone goes on..

Channeling my inner Bob Marley... "no case, no cry."
The things come in a gorgeous case!🤪
Kind of kidding - I fully get why people use cases. For the most part, I have been a sans case iPhone user since the '07 launch. And I do have two cases: one for camping - one of those super thin cases from Totallee (not sure I've known better customer service) and one for cycling from Quadlock (awesome connection system). But the majority of times, my iPhones can be found proudly basking in their birthday suits.

For giggles... I do get a chuckle out of the dude at the coffee shop who pulls out their MBA and it's in a hard shell. But my all-time head scratcher is the AirPods case. Seriously? 🤪 Hey... to each their own. 😁

Edit: oops, forgot what I came here. Just wanted to say I too like the burgundy option. Reminds me of the Imperial Guards from Empire Strikes Back. I keep thinking Apple's gonna take their pro line into a deep bronze space. Feel that color is waiting to have its day. Wait - actually, Maximillian from Disney's The Black Hole is pretty spot on.

I really don't get all the excitement over colors. Is anyone really using these things without a case? I'd like to but I tried it with the iPhone 6 and ended up with a shattered phone, even though I'm a lot more careful than most.
Haven't used a case or screen protector since iPhone 5. I don't get the love for cases, except for children. These things are built strong. I dropped my 14 Pro Max on the tile in my entryway last week and it has zero damage. No need to increase the size or cover up the nice design with plastic or silicone. AppleCare+ takes care of the rest.

Yes. I hate cases and don't use them.. Except for a scratch on an iPhone 3G way back in the day, I haven't had any issues... Not everyone is clumsy with their phones.

Why do they always pick ugly and obnoxious colors? Every time I have to get a white phone because it's like they pull these color selections from women's athleisure catalogs. And the white color hasn't been that great since the XS.

I think Apple nailed it with the iPhone 14 Pro Max in White. It's eye-catching! Stunningly gorgeous.

Don't use a case. Only used one once for two weeks on a trip. Have had most every phone back to 3G and never shattered a screen or cracked one.

I'm still rocking my white XS, but it's in a case since I can be clumsy

Apple's unaware of the red iPhone users meme.

My favorite color was the Sierra Blue on the 13 Pro. I think I'll be getting silver next, I'm also not a fan of the deep purple I currently have.
