I have it set to get me into the workout app. I find it useful.

What I'd like to see with WatchOS 10 and the new iPhone is the ability to single, double and triple click it to open different functions.
Multi-click programmability would be such an easy software update and would be amazing! I love that idea! One of my problems with the button is that I have to pick one specific thing to do, so it's either opening a generic list of stuff or one very specific thing. If I could do something slightly different with multiple clicks, that would be awesome! We do that with other buttons already!

I can imagine the mixed reviews for killing the mute switch this year.
Personally, I prefer a switch as it is now, but Apple feels they need a differentiator, so, I will loose something and earn nothing. Mute switch is mandatory for me. I am more aware of how many times a day I use it since the news broke, and I found that I use it A LOT more than I thought.

Please don’t kill the mute switch.

If it's replaced by a programmable button, then I'm sure you can simply assign it to toggle silent (mute) mode on/off. In fact, that will probably be the default function.

Would be cool if the choice or choices while locked would be different than unlocked. That could solve accidentally turning off mute in your pocket.

Right except it is not easy to tell what the mute state is by just feeling the switch while the phone is still in your pocket.

LOL, I can't do that now, especially with a case on. The switch is so small (and recessed with case on). Not sure how I'd be able to tell which way it's slid by feel (nor remember which way it should be slid) even with no case, though. I just look to see if I can see the orange or not, and even that's hard to see sometimes, especially when not under direct light. In any case, I'm sure the haptic feedback would indicate the state, so you could still do it in your pocket. In fact, it would be even easier.
